The real question is, I dont know whether its been asked as Im not reading 7 pages, the real question is, can this country support a significant increase in the population?

We've already got major water and resource issues, and things arent looking any better for the farmers and growers, which impacts the local economies in regional areas, the capitals have turned to chaos due to the transport system, largly due to the heat wave.

Imagine if we had a 10%-20% spike in population in metro areas. Already the southern and eastern states are on high water restrictions, energy companies are talking about black outs, just this week, due to the increase in demand for power to cool homes. The fruit growing industry in Victoria is a shell of its former self, so theres less work for unskilled laborers looking for a life in regional Victoria.

To say Australia is a big place, is true. But a majority of the country isnt used for a reason. They're sitting around twiddling their thumbs right now trying to work out how they're going to fix our resource problems, yet at the same time they're wanted to bring more people in. Makes heaps of sense doesnt it??

we are full to the extent that our infrastructure and our government cant really govern and maintain stability with just 21 million people. however, if a few changes were made, and policy worked more efficiently for the people that voted them in, we could easily maintain stability within our society with 30million residents. But this wouldn't change a single thing, the hostile, far right racist nationalist will be still whinging.

but lets not delve on about infrastructure and all this bullshit. the truth is, 80% of this country is of Anglo Celtic background. just for the bogans, that's 8 in every 10 people breathing air on Australian soil is a white Australian. sentiments made such as "we are full" may be hostile against immigrants, but are also hostile towards the 20% non white Australians in this country.

know one is going to say what you have claimed is incorrect, however to advocate and push forward these views on australia day with signs such as "fuck off we are full" doesn't really push forward of an idea that we are over populated or under resourced, but more of the essence that australia day = white pride = racism/xenophobia.

You'll realize that half the people that developed all of these assets to Australia would have most likely been of a different cultural race.
