Have a look at the second year Discrete Maths/Graph Theory subject if you want something which is interesting and sets the bar fairly low in terms of difficulty.

Yeah Bing Bing's a twit. The first assignment is a java client/server thing which can be (and has been) done in half an hour by copy pasting code from the book and isn't due til the end of April.

The Accenture lectures afaik cover examinable content as well (XP, among other things) but do so while adding industry anecdotes.

INFO3220 is solid, mostly because Michael Charleston's lecturing.

Is that the assignment about threads or the simple shell program? Last year they were running it in C iirc. Haha yeah true, also there wasn't any point going to bing bing's lectures because he just read through the lecture slides on the textbook's website, and when every 2nd word he says is "okay".

In fact, there wasn't even a tutorial for that subject last year either, just an hour they 'booked' for us in a lab without a role or tutors or anything.

Michael Charleston is an excellent lecturer, hopefully i'll get him when i do the course next year.

Oooh yeah that's heaps good. Awesome. Might even ditch the meet to do more work if I get into that mood.

And Waf, my tutor is german, so I guess he's a Nazi. But srsly, I haven't met any SA people in my (short) uni life.

NameServer.java which waits for connections, creates a new thread when a connection comes in to deal with it and resumes waiting.

Client.java which connects and asks things.

Not going to labs anymore I don't think.

I totally agree, especially the large packs of asians who tend to block the path. Even if you say 'excuse me' they sometimes look at you like your about to eat their face

On another note, Im thinking about changing one of my majors from History to political economy. Good idea?

Actually I do ECOP as well so I would say its a good move. I'm actually enjoying senior ECOP.
