Re: 2009 First Year Macquarie Students.

I'm doing the very cliched worrying over not making friends, picking the wrong degree and units and having a demon possessed work load amount.

Next Semester I'll Be doing the following:
Accounting 1B (Providing pass in 1A lol)
Microeconomic Principles
Marketing Fundamentals
ISYS 123

A chance to boost the GPA with the last two subjects lol

Is it better for lectures to come before tutorials? Logically it would be but yeah...I saw that for a few of my subjects a tutorial was offered before the lecture and it made me wonder. :bomb:
I found it was better but it didn't really matter that much.

I personally find it better to have lectures before tutorials. Last year I had a math tutorial on the monday morning straight after my very first math lecture of the week. 3/4 of the stuff on the tutorial was stuff we hadn't done yet (we did later in the week) and also they usually didn't put the tut questions up till monday morning. Lucky for me though I could change and changed to later in the week, so I had time to look at / do some tut questions and go to more lectures and actually learn the stuff on them.

I think it's better to have them before. Because if the tutorials are all over the place it means that tute is about the previous weeks lecture.
I had one tute directly after a lecture last semester but what we were learning about in the tute was from the previous lecture not the one we just had any it got really confusing =\

PS Don't worry about feeling lost etc everyone goes through it but I've found most people are really friendly. If you want to get to know people the best bet is to go to your tutes/lectures early (if you can) and talk to people before it starts
