Just finished The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and now onto The Notebook.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is good. Reminds me in some way of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

How's The Notebook? I've seen the movie but I've never read the book. I've never read anything by Nicholas Sparks; I hope it's good.

Breaking Dawn. Yeah, throw rocks at me, I'm semi-expecting it.

Just finished The Trial yesterday, started America since it is in the same book and I had nothing else to do on the bus, don't know if I'll keep going with it though, I think I need a break from Kafka.

Currently re reading the Alex Rider books (skipping chunks of each one) and realising that "young adult" fiction is more like "whinge bitch, just out of primary school fiction"

although it has its moments, also re reading 3 tom clancys and a couple of star wars books, suffering from severe commitment issues at the minute

I'm reading several books at the moment, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad
A Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

I'm also reading short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle but I prefer to read them in chunks, slowly and with no rush, even though they are VERY good. So far I've read three short stories in two weeks.

Finally happy I've something decent to read. Many thanks to all of you who replied to my thread.

So, what is everyone reading right now?

After all, this is the reading room. It needs a thread like this!

Please tell us its title, author, and what you think of it!

"My sisters Keeper" ~ Jodi Picoult
a commanding & cathartic drama; an absolute beautiful read

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

So far, it is a fantastic and enthralling read. Well worth a look if you like your Russian writers.
