Mine started yesterday (Monday 14th) and I had Biology in the morning and Modern History in the afternoon.
Today is my day off and I'm meant to be studying for Chemistry... which I'm not very good at. But its only 10.20am... so I'll get something done later.

Here's my timetable for exams:
Mon - Bio, MH
Tues - nothing
Wed - Chem
Thurs - English Advanced (Area Of Study)
Fri - Maths
Mon - English Advanced (Elective topic thingos or something)
Tues-Thurs - nothing
Fri - Extension Maths, Studies Of Religion (which at my school only runs in year 11)

ahh D:
Yeah sure :) Our Othello question was something like;
'What major themes and techniques contributed to the downfall of the tragic Othello, including two of four visual representations'.
the visuals were othello and desdemona kissing passionately, Othello on his knees, Othello and Iago talking (Iago being manipulative) and Othello stabbing himself.
It was a really open question, just not much you could write other than 'Iago was a prick' roflmao :)
We studied Othello in english this year as well. But we did it for the topic 'Power and Persuasion'. Yuck. >.<

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

my chemistry teacher said that getting 50% in our exam would be like getting 95% in the HSC.
me thinks they're trying to scare the fuck out of people and persuade them to drop the course.

i hardly think anyone needs persuading.

Got 2U Maths back. Epic fail, 36/60. Average was 35/60, so 4U is becoming hard to imagine =(

been studying maths since 11am.
i still haven't even touched polynomials, circles, calculus or locus/parabola/parametrics.
and all i've been doing is writing notes.

I am so screwed for tomorrow haha.
I keep telling myself it's only year eleven.. but still?

What else is in the exam apart from those. And why are you writing MATHS notes? Just do a fuckton of past papers.

I did my 2 unit mathematics today. Finished with 1 Hour to go. If you're doing the Independent prepare to cruise through it. Good luck to all.

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

I'm going to be doing the CSSA preliminary paper for Physics.

Anyone done that one? Is it hard? I don't want to know the questions, just rather what is your judgement of it's difficulty in comparison to other exams/school set exams.

i'm doing maths notes cause i haven't listened AT ALL in class for the past year.
oops D;

so i don't know any formulas, etc.
Uhm, there's trigonometry, series and sequences, permutations and combs, polynomials, parametrics + parabola/locus (the 2U stuff aswell, cause the 2U class at my school hasn't finished it..) and all the other prelim 3U stuff. (like the extension calculus etc)

Who told you the average? o_o I've heard everything from the 20s to about 59. Which is pretty gay. And maths notes are good for last minute cramming when you just need to make sure you absorbed the formulas properly.

Yep, got 2U and chem theory back today, and did pretty well by mark, but not so well if you put it by ranking. 48.5/60 for maths, and 45/49 for chem :]

And goodluck to everyone else. Again x]
