Notice I just said webpages, not websites. Why should a person be stopped from visiting certain web pages just because they may be subjected to abuse/bullying by another person whilst on that page?
Lol @ your avatar. I know her. She went to the same school as me.If someone taps you on the arse, alludes to the fact they want to bang you, comments on your tits etc
you get
the fuck
over it
You are utterly fucking retarded in your understanding of Libertarianism if you even have to ask that question. That's where libertarianism becomes utterly heartless and stupid. "Just let the little bullied girly deal with it herself, tell her to harden the fuck up."
What if they maimed, raped or killed her in the end? Pretty sure someone's getting directly affected there. Do you still insist on the courts staying out of it then?
Lol @ your avatar. I know her. She went to the same school as me.
And I'm sorry, but not everyone's as macho as you.
Being emotionally hurt is extremely subjective. If we are to say people have a right to not have their feelings hurt online (when browsing sites they can easily just close if they don't like) we can start to ban all sorts of things.Someone is being hurt, okay? As expected, they do not like that, okay? The bullies were not benefiting from it in anyway, even if they think they were, they were only hurting someone. Therefore, punishing it is justified.
Why let the little fuckers that did it get of scott free? Don't they deserve a comeuppance and a lesson on how to be decent? And doesn't the victim deserve that from her side as well?
Just coz you're - evidently - very tough when it comes to abuse. Doesn't mean everyone has to be. People are inherently different in the amount of bullying, stress and pain can take. You can't just tell them that they brought this on themselves, it's all up to them.Emotional bullying is not not some superfluous form of bullying...
Bullying can lead to mental illness, says study - Education News, Education - The Independent
It causes serious problems. Not so subjective actually, if the person is feeling hurt...
Come on, everyone here knows how a school works, even if she only sees the thing website the first time, she's gonna be constantly reminded of it, in nice and nasty ways at school.
Well I prefer to err on the side of protecting the victim, rather than the bully.
I mean seriously..."the right to bully", fuck off. What about the right not to be bullied.
+1i must say i support the court...
Additionally, to the above comment(s), i will say that, not only is being "hurt" emotionally subjective, i believe (perhaps controversially) that emotional pain can only be brought to oneself...for example, you can choose to let comments or insults "get to you" or hurt you, or you can choose to ignore them, solely up to yourself.
Those people who get offended by such petty matters really need to toughen the fuck up. Kids will be kids, and emotions are very irrational to say the least.
