It's that time of year again, and voting has opened today, so being the eager beaver I am, I voted as such:

  1. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros - Home
  2. Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness
  3. Brother Ali - Fresh Air
  4. Yeasayer - Ambling Alp
  5. Kid Sam - Down to the Cemetery
  6. Bloody Beetroots - Awesome
  7. Flobots - Handlebars
  8. Placebo - Battle for the Sun
  9. Mumford & Sons - The Cave
  10. New Found Glory - Listen to your Friends

Who are you voting for?
Having any dilemmas that need you need a second opinion on?

I really agree with this actually. "Home" is SUCH a good song. I think "Little Lion Man"-Mumfords & Sons will also feature. I agree with Kid Cudi.

Other potential top 10:
Fresh Blood- The Eels,
That look you gave that guy- The Eels,
Rabbit Heart- Florence and the Machine
Dog Days are Over- Florence and the Machine (doubtful, prob top 20)
Shruggin- Urthboy (top 20)
Sleepyhead- Passionpit
Broken Leg- Bluejuice
Mexican Mavis- Boy and Bear

What you think of those moll?

definitely will be voting for:

blakroc: ain't nothin like you (hoochie koo)
animal collective: my girls
florence and the machine - rabbit heart (raise it up)

i like brother sport way better but i think that my girls is way more likely to get votes. i am undecided as to whether or not to vote for the big pink's velvet because i think the gang gang dance remix of it is worlds above.

plz guys eyes instead of my girls
again, same reason. i do love guys eyes but if i vote for something that didn't get much airplay no animal collective will make it into the list, and having them there, even if it is for my girls is better than not imo

All good songs, but none that I could personally listen to on repeat for hours at a time, which is the main criteria for when I choose.

in no particular order:

Blakroc - Ain't Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo)
Grizzly Bear - While You Wait For The Others
Little Birdy - Brother
Middle East, The - The Darkest Side
Paul Dempsey - Bats
Andrew Bird - Anonanimal
XX, The - Crystalised
Bat For Lashes - Glass
An Horse - Little Lungs
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

no. 1 was Andrew Bird's Anonanimal, tonal perfection for me

but Ain't Nothing Like You and While You Wait For The Others were big contenders for that place

Not voting in a naive act of defiance since nothing I've picked in other polls about 2009 would rate in the hottest 100 anyway. Also, last year's results were shit and proved that the poll gets stacked by whatever indie-crossover act gets a few plays on nova. Hence, either Mumford and Sons or The Temper Trap will win, and everything else is a moot point. Move along.

That, or Muse. Delicious, MoR Muse.

so true, i really do not like mumford or temper trap. i was sondiering going to see temper trap at enmore just because bridezilla was opening. if muse get's in the top 20 i will go fucking insane, this is their worst year yet
