When you post the load you are accepting the load into the system that day and your stock counts will be available in the system straight away. If you don't post the load it will download into the system over night and your stock counts will be in the system the next day.

All loads get received but the posting is dependent on what it is - e.g. The rule of thumb is to post the produce, meat, freezer and perishable loads that day. Longlife, Sydney and/or Melbourne get received but not posted (goes into system overnight).

Cigarettes get posted that day also but need to be scanned individually on the RF gun...pain in the arse!

And why do we have to do it that way? I think it has something to do with claims.
For high turnover liquor departments, the load should be accepted and posted when received. If you don't, you will get ongoing negative counts.

I.e. SOH =1, you receive a carton of wine(6) so your SOH is now 7 and if a customer buys 2 bottles and you have not posted the load it will be -1.

A DM/2IC in liquor should NOT have any negatives if on top of their department routine.

How'd you manage two SSMs?
Also does your store have only the one STM?
One STM, two SSM's. One is full time salaried, and the other is currently on maternity leave from her permanent SSM role, but there is some kind of arrangement so she's still in our store in a part time type scenario, but she does everything she did before. It works out good considering that our FT SSM is so lazy.

I'm a bit worried about our new SM. He's been in store since Monday, and today he asked me if I was the CSM - surely he should have worked this one out.
I took it as quite a compliment though.

Also caught my first shoplifter. It was 2 kids who tried to get energy drinks past me. They failed, failed horribly.

I would have called the code which makes everyone run to the front - just to see everyone run to the front. All for the lols.

If that code got called in my store, no one would respond. Last time it got called one of the s/s guys was being assaulted by some drug crazed chick whose fake credit card he'd taken off her.
It was rather funny coz he just cowered in the corner of the s/s while she laid into him. (No one really liked him so hey).

Well the DM just goes "give them to me, you're NOT leaving with them". They didn't even try to defend themselves, they knew they stole it.
No need for that service call :p, DM walked outside to find a guy who stolen from liquor at the same time, so i told the kids to wait, then flagged the DM down when he came back in.

Mind you we're dead at night so it wasn't anything too huge.

yeah last time it was called at our store, pretty much all our bogan workers ran to the front looking for a fight. The pros and cons of working in a westie area.

When I called a service 100 once, every manager in the store bolted to the front LOL. It was amusing to say the least.
