i dont know but i heard somewhere you have to be 18 although in japan condoms are sold in vending machines
Everything is in vending machines in Japan. Booze, ciggies, soft drinks, hot food, ice cream, you name it. There's tons of them, and I love it :D

Back on topic, just for the sake of discussion... maybe the idea of telling young kids about sex from an early age will affect their relationships with their peers. They might start thinking about people their age of the opposite sex in a sexual context, leading to disintegration of the jollyness and innocence of kids running around pushing each other into the mud. I have no evidence to back it up at all, but just thinking about both sides of the argument.

Um ok, just because you don't learn about it at school doesn't mean your parents are just gonna leave you in the dark. Pretty sure before they started teaching this at school the parents would pull their kid aside at some point and tell them...

Not always. People used to find out how to have sex by being told by a doctor the day (or a few days) before their wedding night.

yeah but parents don't talk about it anymore due to their embarrassment and the awkward fallout. parents usually leave it to teachers nowadays.

My school or parents never taught me about sex... I learned it all from porn.
