Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

perhaps, but it was fairly obvious that the attack was unjustified because they were not engaging in terrorist activity at the time. It is ridiculous to orchestrate a massacre under the far-fetched assumption that there would be a terrorist attack by a few humanitarian workers, a few journalists armed with axes and knives very publically heading towards Israel with aid.

Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

Weapons such as axes and knives are explainable not as the weapons of terrorists, the far-fetched explanation provided by the IDF, but a way to deter the thousands of pirates in the region.
That's right. The act of piracy tends to be unpredictable so better safe than sorry (and what do you know! Entire 'countries' have taken up such occupations). That's not to say, such weapons are present as a normal thing in case one may decide to you know... cook? Or in case of fires.

Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

There was no 'attack' by the IDF, it was the enforcing of a blockade. Once they themselves got attacked it turned to 'self defense' (First with paintball guns might I add).

Ok, they enforce an internationally-condemned, immoral blockade that infringes on the basic rights of a particular people by narrowing down there aid and resources by attacking a peaceful flotilla of aid in international waters. Solid justification for killing 10 people m8.

Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

u guys get so worked up

Israel:
- shouldnt have boarded the boat.

Activists etc:
- shouldnt have attacked armed IDf members

???

both parties are at fault.

yes the bigger picture is that israel does what it wants when it wants, but if you look at this incident independently, both parties are equally at fault

It didn't narrow down any of the aid, in fact as was noted above the Gazans already have enough of what was on the ship. The aid that was on the ship however was going to be delivered by Israel in the first place, and now has.
The blockade is justification for boarding the ship. Getting attacked with deadly weapons was justification for defending themselves with live fire.

Israel should have boarded the ship, although it probably would have gone better and ended in no deaths if they had way more people to control the crowd and were using something for crowd control other than paintball guns.

Yes I agree with you, that both parties were at fault but the IDF to a far greater extent. I agree the activists should have been punished except for one important point...........THEY DID NOTHING ILLEGAL. Lets face it, if some armed soldiers randomly boarded your boat for no apparent reason and said armed forces have a history of human rights violation, including the 'accidental' mass killings of those who support Palestine, you would be shit-scared and retaliate too.

If the IDF had not made the ridiculous dedcision to board the boat in what was clearly a provocative manner, none of this would have happenned.

Furthermore this aid is vital. The only party that says current supplies to Gaza are sufficient is the Israeli government and affiliated organisations. Palestinians themselves, international charity organisations e.g. Amnesty and the UN amongst representatives from multiple other nations all provide evidence on the contrary.

That is the worst logic I've seen used in an argument in a while.

Soldiers boarding the ship with paintball guns!
They might shoot us if we attack them!
Better attack them!

UN reports show that the 10,000 tons per week figure is less than 25% of what is required to meet the basic needs of Gazans. So no, they didn't have enough of what was on the ship.

Blockade isn't a justification when said blockade is ILLEGAL and condemned by UN and the wider international community.

Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

boarding a boat illegally is a lesser evil than bashing people with metal poles to the extent that they felt their lives were in danger and lethal force was required to protect themselves

When said soldiers are armed and represent armed forces that have a history of violence against innocent civilians, I don't blame them.

Re: Jesus fucking Christ - IDF massacres Turks on board humanitarian ship

what

that is more incentive to not resort to violence?

either way, it is reprehensible, isnt it

IDF performed the lesser evil in boarding the boat. Yes they may have been unjustified in doing so, but attacking them with weapons, even if they werent guns, is worse.

soldiers are usually armed when boarding boats, for safety reasons. they cant be sure what is on the boat, which is the whole reason they were boarding the boat in the first place.

if they were searching a boat it is safe to say they didnt have a complete idea of the cargo. therefore it makes sense to protect yourself lol. pretty easy to understand

Cargo was searched in Cyprus by official bodies before departing.

Most retarded thing I've heard in a while. "Attack people who have paintball guns because if we don't there is a chance that they might pull their pistols out."

It wasn't really vital in a sense, although it did contain cement which isn't meant to be brought in. The flotilla was only carrying 10,000 tons of aid it's only an extra weeks aid which is why this has nothing to do with bringing in aid.

"The flotilla organisers rejected Israel's offer, however, as organizer Greta Berlin stated: "This mission is not about delivering humanitarian supplies, it's about breaking Israel's siege on 1.5 million Palestinians"."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_flotilla_clash#cite_note-google1-8

The more I think about this event the more ridiculous it is in my mind. Israel is definately at fault for what has happened here, but it's obvious the bringing of aid was not the only motive for the flotilla. That 10,000 is a drop in the ocean. It's also ridiculous as the current government is a terrorist organization which is why Israel has the blockage in the first place. Palestine will never be free until they are free of Hamas. Israel's blockage was put in place to combat Hamas. This is a legitimate action. I'm sure Israel could have done a better job of creating a more humanitarian blockage, but the fact remains Palestine is currently governed by a terrorist organization. It is illogical to bring in 10,000 tons of aid without the proper precautions to an area which is governed by a terrorist organization which has stolen aid before. It is ridiculous to suggest that the blockage of Gaza should be lifted without further military action.

OH OKAY

look guys

boarding and searching vessels in international waters, when the cargo is headed for their ports, is not new. most countries do it.

lol oh this ship was searched in Colombia, better not search it for cocaine hey guys, off you go to port have fun, also you have some white powder on your nose mate
\

you guys cannot literally be defending the actions of the activists attacking IDF personnel with iron bars and knives lol, that is an act of aggression, and i dont blame idf members for protecting themselves
