hahaha don't be scared mate, im sure a war won't break out any time soonYou guys really scare me... lol!
It sounds like a war.
hahaha im sure it would.hahaha this reminds me being a guy, if a girl did that to my seat and she looked reasonably hot. I will ask her politely once, if she is hesitant or declines, i will just sit on her lap haha! that will do the trick. Oh.. unless she was bored and wanted some fun
If it were me i would probably think the person coming back was lying as well tbh. There have only been a couple of times i have seen someone leave their desk for a moment, far more often they are gone for over 45 minutes or more. And i guess i can understand being pissed off if that happened after you had been looking for a desk for ages. I dunno, things seem to go a bit loco in the library during exam period.yeah thats true, thats why i explained to her. maybe she thought i was lying or something but im just surprised at how pissed off she was.
EDIT: this was reply to -may-cat-.
Oh wow he actually yelled at you? I've sat on the floor heaps of times during the last 2 weeks of uni when there wern't any seats (mainly cause it was nice and warm in the library) but I've never had any of the staff get anrgy at me before for doing it.Originally I sat on the floor in between shelves going through my books but then one of the librarians shouted at me so then I just found an empty shelving stand.
So, i was looking for free tables today but all packed since exams and stuff coming up. I went to level 4 searching for tables near lake side, this girl infront took out a bottel and started spraying at her face....wtf
Finally, got a table at level 3. Then the dude next to me out of no where was brushing his teeth, even got toothpaste.....seriously wtf?!?!?
I don't know. i reckon Australia should have a rule, no nerdy rude hard out asians with grammar so poor its not funny and more sexy Swedish students!!!!!!(if anybody points out a grammatical error i will take your pens!!!)Bloody hell, why do most of these problems arise from the international students?
Same 2 all Indian, Sri Lankan, (South) East asian...students I dare say? And I'm an overseas guy as well.FYI I am an international student..
and even I hate international students. esp those who can't speak english and hog library chairs and speak in level 4 study spaces. 2 days ago was so annoyed with these 2 chinese girls coz they have been talking for the past 1 hour in level 4 QUIET study space. I told them off... they stay quiet for 20 mins then their friends come and talk again. I had to give them a lot of evil glare to shush them up... ITS FREAKING "QUIET" STUDY SPACE FOR GOD SAKE SHUT UP!!!
as a chinese international student, i saw this thread a couple of days ago and decided to remain silent as long as the criticism on internationals was not 'crossing the line'...However not surprisingly ppl started to blame us for everything and even explicitly showed ur hatred and discrimination of international students. Now I would like to make it clear to you, Mr Not-Vietnamese, as well as all other proud locals and Anglo-saxon internationals,FYI I am SE asian. not vietnamese, the other one
and I would like to say this out loud... I DONT KNOW A SINGLE CHINESE WORD!!! loads of ppl just randomly come up to me and speak chinese, and im like... WTF i dont know a single word u just said. I dont get how these ppl could survive australia without being able to speak english.... like howwww???? geez these ppl made such bad impressions for us international students...
Should be "another one" coz I don't know about the one u mentioned. So what's ur nationality, Thai I suppose? Why mentioned Vietnamese ppl here?FYI I am SE asian. not vietnamese, the other one

ok, firstly calm down. We are not blaming you for everything, just expressing how sometimes we are irritated and how it is surprising how a large minority of these incidences are linked to international students. on your first point, yes most speak english, however some speak and write very poorly. 2) nobody has said that you are not allowed to speak your native language, however we are talking about loud conversations in places which are quiet areas, ie during lectures tutorials which in my case happens a lot.(im not sure if its louder or just stands out more because it is a foreign language but its annoying nonetheless)as a chinese international student, i saw this thread a couple of days ago and decided to remain silent as long as the criticism on internationals was not 'crossing the line'...However not surprisingly ppl started to blame us for everything and even explicitly showed ur hatred and discrimination of international students. 1) we ARE able to speak english.
2) like it or not, we are entitled to speak our own language as long as we are not in class.
3) I agree that it is very inappropriate to talk to ppl in chinese without asking if u speak the language. But maybe they thought u r chinese. Every time i go to Korean stores or Japanese hair salons, ppl talk to me in Korean and Japanese as well, and i've never been pissed off.
