Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt?

democracy is brilliant
82% of Egyptians support stoning adulterers,
77% support whippings/cutting off hands for theft and robbery,
84% support the death penalty for apostasy.

Source: http://pewglobal.org/files/2010/12/Pew-Global-Attitudes-Muslim-Report-FINAL-December-2-2010.pdf

Are you saying democracy is good no matter what form it takes (in Egypt's case a theocracy), or are you imagining that a western democracy will replace what's there now?

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt?

Disgusting.
These idiots have turned Egypt into a dump. This the chance the Muslim Brotherhood have been waiting for, they started all this because during the recent elections the national democratic party made sure that most brotherhood members could not win any seats.
The bias news coverage is pissing me off, MOST normal Egyptians want Mubarak to stay in power, they dont want Islamic law which will be introduced once the brotherhood take over what about the 8 million Christians all of them are pro Mubarak.

I am upset though the riot police did a poor poor job this time, usually they take thousands and kill them behind the scenes. The stupid Interior minister ordered them to go easy and eventually retreat and there is now a arrest warrant for him because of this.

The riot police should return and kill/bash them all. Egypts not going to get better under the pigs ( Muslim Brotherhood)

That's very stupid of you to say.

Why would MOST normal Egyptians want to be ruled by a dictator that is essentially a puppet to Western governments?
Why would MOST normal Egyptians want to be ruled by a government that sells gas to Israel cheaper than it sells it to its own people?
Why would MOST normal Egyptians want to be ruled by a government that does little to improve the social welfare of its people given that 20% of the population is living below poverty line?
Why...

The list goes on and on. Who are you to speak for the Egyptian people, anyway?

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt?

Yeah im sure, lets see every Copt want mubarak to stay in power, heaps of people have been crying over his recent treatment, oh wait, your only seeing the bias coverage showing the pro mubarak supporters as thugs. No ones seeing the priests hand in hand with imams being carried through the streets, with women,

Very thugish.

Fuck the arab world, Egypts Egypt all Arab countries hate us. See how we treat the fucking people from the Gaza strip, opening fire on them, not allowing aid to get through. Thats my Egypt.

Also lets see, I guess the news forgot to report the murders of several com officers in Alexandria.

Aml El Markazee ftw.

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt?

lol troll
you're 100% behind a lying, hypocritical, corrupt dictator who has done jackshit for his people and has kept them behind for 30 years
they're not pro mubarak protesters
they're plainclothed police officers
mubarak just wants to cling onto his power
he should get the fuck out of egypt
right
now

the protests have been peaceful
until state authority started killing and wounding unarmed civilians and the peaceful protesters
firing tear gas canisters
running over them
sniping them

Thugs? No no, I'm not going for euphemism here.

From the start of the Wednesday the atmosphere was different.

Since I arrived here a week ago I have seen no significant demonstrations for President Mubarak.

But from the morning there were thousands of his supporters on Cairo's streets, mobilised presumably by the ruling party, the NDP.

The pro-Mubarak demonstrations were well organised, not spontaneous.

Numbered buses unloaded supporters. Many placards looked as if they had been made by professional sign writers.

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt?

When this is all over Egypt will end up with a horrible theocracy.

Arab people need dictators to keep them in order, they're not like us. Give them democracy and they'll just elect the worst fundamentalist theocrats possible.

It's not like they want democracy anyway. If they truly wanted it, they would have ousted Mubarak years ago.
