How is it possible to get a state rank if you dont rank 1st in your internals?? I dont understand how 5 girls from cheltenhem state ranked last year for aboriginal studies?? Where they the only people who did Aboriginal studies or did they all get full marks on their external exam??

It doesnt matter if arent ranked first, if the person who tops the state goes to ur skool, and u get just as good an external mark and come second, u will get to keep ur mark and will get state rank as well

State rankings only apply to external exams

State ranks are definitely affected by both internal and external exams.

my profile says i go to ruse but i dont lol i go to baulkham hills. We have trials in two weeks so the only things i really have hope of getting a state rank for are maths ext 1 which i am ranked 10/168, economics 15/91 and PDHPE 4/34. I know i would have to ace the trials for economics and maths ext 1 just to come top 3.

yeah you still have a chance at a state rank. Someone ranked 15th in chemistry internally a few years ago at baulko pulled off a stunning external mark and state ranked.
And no, state ranks apply for your overall HSC mark.

Yeah lol thats like saying if you come last in internals but come first in the state for externals you will get a state rank.. clearly that cant be right

hey destiny, was that cohort exceptionally good though because barring khfreakau and the chick coming first the economics cohort is pretty bad this year. The accelerated classes are hopeless...

haha what school are you from!. The person coming first in my grade is like unbeatable she has only dropped 1 mark over the 3 assessments we have done so far so shes probably gonna ace externals

no you wouldnt state rank in MX1 unless you were in the top 3 and ur grade was really good bcuz with MX1 you have to get 100 as both external and internal to have a chance at state rank. i no someone who got 99 internal and 100 external last year in MX1 and didnt get a state rank

2nd Exam: 79/84 (94%)
3rd Exam: 43/46 (93%)

one of the lecturers at the hta modern history study day said that once he had a modern history class in which he had 5 state rankers. (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th)
