Wow u can get them in australia? Last time I had ine was in pakistan lol
No way, they have shawarma in Pakistan?? Yeah you can get it in Aust, they usually sell em at the kebab shops, but my step mum actually makes it herself, she does the spice mix herself and the whole cooking process...it tastes better when you make it at home from scratch. Best chicken shawarma that I have tasted was probably Naji's followed by Hijazi's. For the meat shawarma, Bonsai's is the best. They're in Arncliffe...I don't know if you know where that is.

i googled the chicken shawarma thingo it looks like a kebab
Sort of, except its not in a roll. It's all about the spice and marination. Meat shawarma is usually slow cooked in the oven with the spices and marinate and they usually grill the tomatoes and onions with the meat and marinate also. The chicken is marinated with the special shawarma spices and just cooked in a fry pan on the stove. That's how you make it at home, I don't know how they cook it in the shops....the standard "shawarma" in shops comes straight off the spit roast.

It depends. Some Arabs (a lot of them actually) loooveeee meat so they would try to prepare the dishes that are more meat based. My family isn't big on meat so we tend to make the more vego meals. See everyday Arab household food very much revolves around stews and rice on the side. You could add meat to the stew if youre big on it, or you could put little to none if you're not big on it. There are other totally veg meals though and there are totally meat dishes buy they're more of a hassle to cook. Preparation time Nd cooking time sometimes exceeds three hours for those more "special" dishes e.g. stuffed zuchini or vineleaves.

Lol well pakis and Arabs have similar foods I guess...the spices are identical. The Arabs used to trade a lot with that region of the world hence why we might have similar foods. I swear some pakis look like Arabs and vice versa. I'm guessing cross cultural breeding?

Yeah auburn defs has shawarma. Just walk into any kebab shop lol. Also if you want to go to a good chicken place, you should go to el jannah in Granville. Let's go sometime :D
