15b)
i) real coefficients - roots in conjugates
II) just factorise
ii) for there to be a real root, z-k=0 and kz-1=0 simultaneously. therefore, k = 1 or -1; sub this value in
iv) product of roots; modulus^4 = 1. and they all have equal modulus. therefore = 1
v) use sum of roots
vi) no idea

EDIT: with vi), i had an idea, but not enough time. sum of roots two at a time would give you a value of k^2. you would then use the fact that k=x-y to prove it is greater than something; and it should fall out somehow

Think i'll be happy with my mark :)

Wasn't a very hard paper nor was it easy. Decent paper overall.

Yeah, it was easier than previous years in my opinion.
Although, i wanted more mechanics questions (my strongest topic).

I thought multiply choice would be a killer like it was in trials so glad it wasn't.
Still multiply choice should be banned in all levels of maths...in my opinion LOL

i found it alright. there was too much conics and geometry imo and nowhere near enough mechanics. volumes by far hardest question. multiple choice was good but theres nowhere near enough structure with this change to multiple choice. last question wasnt too bad but 15a was challenging.

anyone able to tell me what 75-83 may scale to?

Solid paper. I confirmed dropped 13 marks so hoping for 85/100 though I could get heaps below that with sillies and stuff lol.

I think at the start I was too careful and slow- my setting out for Q11 is beautiful etc. I tried to be careful with restrictions but I probs missed some of those as well.

there were two questions on Mechanics bro, dafuq u on abouT?
There was one mark in the multiple choice.

The other wasn't Mechanics, it was 3 unit, unless you want to classify 3 unit applications under mechanics.
