Personally thought econ1001 was fascinating, but all my friends hated it, so maybe I'm just weird. It is a 'hard' unit though- averages were just above the 50% mark for most assessments iirc, but there's quite a bit of scaling involved. Lecturer when I did it was katrien stevens, she's great + loved her accent (makes watching 6 hours straight worth of lectures bearable). buss1030 is really useful, though the 2 weekly assessments were just plain annoying imo (don't leave them to the last minute! like me, literally every. single. week.)
someone said ECON1001 was VERY VERY similar to MATH1905 which is statistics and i know for a fact that is identical to BUSS1020 and MATH1005.

however, apparently they haven't picked up on the similarity and made prohibitions, so i figured i'd take advantage of it.

Indubitably.

math1905? really?? It's very very similar to buss1040 which might be what they meant, and yes, they haven't made each other a prohibition.

actually, i think you're right.

ECON1001 very similar to buss1040, the guy said 95% similar so i figured id do econ1001 second semester for a slightly easier subject

can someone enlighten me as to what are the advantages of TSP? beside it obviously being an interesting addition to your curriculum and stuff, are there any pros?
In 1st year 1st semester, I think there's only the TSP showcase (correct me if I am wrong). It's 3cp and I overloaded to fit it in without any issues. Not to mention, I did psychology tsp showcase and talked about sex :p the other showcasers must have been mad (or laughing at us).

It's an opportunity to do research first year as asianese has said. I personally liked research, so I hopefully can do it this year (WAM is not 85 though, 84.6 GG).

so many maths = king!

No idea, hopefully for the tsp they'll be nice!
I'm doing a maths degree so you'd think so :p

But yeah TSP...I did a sneaky thing with my degree and my 'new' WAM is HD but 'old' is 84.1 so idk if it'll all work out or what.

Haha, do you happen to know someone with initials A.P.? He's hc, maths + phys + overload. So much.
What do you mean by sneaky..? o_O are you planning to replace one of your units with tsp (I think they'll let us if we ask VERY politely).

It's not that bad. Funnily enough I'm less busy contact hours wise in the semester I overload in haha.

Sounding good so far :). Looking forward to it.

But I think there is a different coordinator this year. Heard of Dr Charlotte Taylor?
Yes she's lovely, she was really involved in running SSP bio.

I did not get a good chance to look... too much MBLG for me. ANAT shall keep me sane... *names all the gyri and sulci of the brain*. She says it is an enjoyable unit - more enjoyable than PHSI and IMMU. :)

I'm not bothered to check class times... hit me with your best shot Timetable Unit! (Actually don't - be nice to me) :p WRIT is going to be my break unit. ANAT, ARIN and SCLG are going to take up most of my time (thank God I only have two final exams this semester).
Ar ok nice to hear it was cooler than IMMU cause I did consider doing that, funnily enough I am doing an INMS unit now ;)
(Sadly prob in WRIT's place than I might do first sem next year depending on what stuff goes on)

Sem 1
BUSS1040
PSYC1001 (spur of the moment)
MATH1901
MATH1902
BUSS1001

seems alright

Sem2
BUSS1030
MATH1903
MATH1905
ECON1001 (micro)
CHEM1901

this one seems crap, chem has SEVEN gorram hours i think! no idea if econ1001 is interesting, statistics seems alright and buss1030 sounds boring (accounting)
It certainly does. Intrigued as to how you are doing 1901 in second sem though, I thought they only offered adv for 1a in sem 1 and adv for 1b in second sem.

Semester 1

Ohhhh, a lot of people seem to be doing INFO1903.

So sneaky son, much sneaky.

Oh but you know us anatomists, physiologists and immunologists have the best ~bad~ puns in comparison to other science/medical science fields. :p I was planning to do something else and replacing WRIT too (like another SCLG unit). I want to do MUSC so bad... I'm missing the sticky touch of rosin on my bow. :(

Since I want a backup degree if I don't get a job and I didn't wanna pay $100 to transfer last year, I'm transferring to BSc/BA for semester 2. Not gonna transfer any of my junior credits over as I'm limited in arts credits for Bsc/BA!

Did you mean GOVT1202? World Pol?

If its semester 2, you'll probably get John Brookfield for Geopol and Gil Merom for Worldpol. I think they're both decent lecturers nothing amazing as Gil dreads teaching Worldpol and John just talks REALLY fast. Both classes have fairly dense readings and in order of you well in the exam you must do the readings and go the lectures as they test you on some bs that they've mentioned in lectures. Also reading the current news on IR really helps with the geopol exam. If you want to avoid one of them you could take GOVT1104. From what I've heard its pretty good. I personally haven't taken it though.
