That's alright, how did you find it overall?

Actually fairly straight forward although I've been driving manual cars for years and can mountain bike. I thought it was just putting the 2 together but I can see how someone who has not concept of traffic or changing gears would find the course insufficient. It teaches you concepts mostly, just how to approach "traffic" in a motorcycle and the basics of what the controls do and a bit about making it start and stop. Definitely should be seen only as an introductory course.

Probably best to get something without fairing. Like a VTR250 or GS500 if you are heavy (500cc, but 80s technology)

A thrashed, imported 90s zxr250, cbr250 etc. is probably a bad idea and the newer ones are all just dressed up to look like 600cc/litre bikes.

start on a 250, get a 500 or 650 if your bigger

Would probably be considered mild. I drive pretty defensively and passively and yeah my friends have a go at me for sticking religiously to speed limits driving the STI (doesn't get you where you're going any faster and I'd rather not pay fines). I'm a huge believer in safe and considerate driving, some of the stupid shit that people do really shits me. The phone is probably the worst offender. I'm not above saying the above when friends play with phones while driving.
