Re: HSC 2016 4U Marathon

Yeah, I realised, after checking in wolfram, which I probably should have done before asking.
My bad

For interest's sake, it can be shown to diverge because the summand is on the order of 1/k as k -> oo, and the harmonic series diverges.

Re: HSC 2016 4U Marathon

can someone post some decently hard inequality questions, within the scope of the HSC course (not KOA and paradoxica's "hsc course" level).
Having a boring day at school so i though i might as well do something

I'll post a guided olympiad question. Just give me a moment to modify it accordingly.

(Actually, my last inequality posted in the elementary marathon is quite easy if you use the cosine rule ;) )

If anyone wants to do that, that's the question that made me rethink all of my life choices during the 4u half yearly

I hate circular motion with a passion

That is exactly why I dropped engineering.

I don't have the attention span to resolve and determine all vector forces actingg on the system.

"It's a light rod"

"How light?"

"Massless"

"Well then there is no rod"

"Yes there is because I say there is"

It was 4u tho, so you could totally get that question yourself

They don't usually seem to ask those types of Q's in the HSC (like with a sliding ring), if I recall correctly. I do think they can found in textbook Q's though.

whhhhattt you did engineering? We could've been twins, since no one else in the 2016 cohort seems to do it lol

It'd be worse if it weren't massless :p.
Elliptic Integrals aren't that bad...

They only require an entire term's worth of content. :p

Since I dropped, there are 7 people remaining who do it. Such an indivisible number, but my sanity takes priority over convenience of integers
