Re: 2016 Election Chit-Chat Thread

Issues mainly concerning me are a hike in Uni fees in 2 years if we continue with our current government.

No party has particularly stood out this election.... There hasn't been any big dramas or cringe moments like in our last election surprisingly.

Re: 2016 Election Chit-Chat Thread

I'm voting Labor, because the Liberals seem to suck in most ways compared to Labor. Neither are the best, but Labor is clearly better than Liberal to me.

Liberals killed the NBN, really butchered it. They also tried twice to deregulate uni fees (you don't try cutting money on education, it should be thing we focus on most, along with health - which they are also trying to butcher), and have let it slip they'll try again.

And can someone tell me why so many people seem to hate the greens? What did they do?

Re: 2016 Election Chit-Chat Thread

Don't see the point of voting for major political parties when everyone will vote for them anyways and they're all talk. So I'll probably be voting for some minor ones. Won't see any new faces in the govt unless people vote for the minor ones.

Re: Who you prefrencing this weekend?

At the moment its Coalition 90% v 10% Labor (according to Polls) as I speak on 28/6/16

Will take a monumental effort to Labor to get up from here.
What poll is this?

ALP will win by 9 seats, Greens will some more seats in formerly safe National electorates due to coal seam gas mining (it happened in the NSW State election).

So your vote won't count.
tbh, the people who are already in power will stay in power. The same issues will remain and nothing will change (is my attitude)

I just need to get my name marked off just so I don't receive a fine

Your vote is actually more important than most people here. Many seats are safe, but you're in a significant swing seat, one that dictated who was going to be in government in 2010.

You people who don't give a crap really surprise me. You'd think you'd want to have a say in your country's future. The whole reason we have this system is so everyone can have their say.

Don't waste your vote.

Yep . it also triggers me when people don't vote or scribble on their paper.

We are at least given the opportunity to pick our leaders and live in a somewhat democratic country. There are so many countries that are not given this opportunity and have no say in who becomes their leader.

Don't take it for granted.

Pre-tertiary education, sure. But there's absolutely no reason taxpayers should be forced to subsidise worthless arts students.

No, they're not at all. Seems to me you've fallen for labor's scare campaign

And can someone tell me why so many people seem to hate the greens? What did they do?
Gee, it might be this little thing called ALL OF THEIR POLICIES
