Hey guys,

so my final wam for this year was 77 in media and communications.

I was wondering whether or not, you guys think this will be competitive enough to gain a position?

I know its based on supply and demand, but like do any of you guys know anybody who got in on a similar wam? I feel as tho it wont be enough :/ and getting reassurance will sure make me feel better about myself.

Thanks guys :)

Distinction WAM is pretty good man, you'd definitely be competitive for UTS, UWS, and Mac. Definitely not for Sydney and you'd need to have done the LAT for UNSW but I don't think your WAM would be good enough :/

If law is what you want to do I'd definitely recommend trying for UTS, UWS, or Mac though. But consider the social life/law society opportunities. That being said, the UWS law society is pretty shit. All the best man.

Thanks for the response, but i think your point of view is from a different uni applying to transfer to unsw? im actually a student at unsw and internally transferring? or is your comment based on me being at unsw?

I think it applies universally, no? I was under the impression that you still need to complete the LAT even if you're a current student at UNSW.

77 isn't amazing mate, just apply and its 50/50 (probably worse odds). In the meantime, study your arse off and get a WAM safe enough to easily transfer.

i dont think it's worse odds tbh - last years cut off was like 75 and the year before that was 76. But yeah, if not gotta smash next year and try again

Are you aware of supply and demand?

77 is borderline WAM requirement. Your chances are slim.

Are you really aware of supply and demand?

um its two points above 75 wam required. I dont think chances are slim. Also, majority of commerce majors end up with a 75-78 wam after first year. So, like yeah chances arent really slim rice farmer.
