so does the force direction change or not?
You are right about it decreasing gravitational force but remember that when the gravitational force is lessened it means the pointer is not being pulled down as much so the pointer will actually move upIsn't the pointer in Q18(or 19?) going down because the repulsive force by the coils is lessening gravitational force, so less apparent weight is measured?
I highly doubt it. Were only like a few people out of the thousands that take it. I'm predicting cutoff to be 83ish. Its never gone above that and even though we found it easy, statewide it was just like any other physics paper when 83 aligns to B6cut off is probably gonna be 87 cause it was the easiest physics paper in the hsc
Why would it move up? Less force is measured, and it's a spring balance. You are right about it decreasing gravitational force but remember that when the gravitational force is lessened it means the pointer is not being pulled down as much so the pointer will actually move up
The reading on the balance would decrease yes but theres no way that the pointer would move down? The spring is being pulled down LESS so it moves up.Why would it move up? Less force is measured, and it's a spring balance.
Isn't the pointer showing the magnitude of the force exerted on the spring? So, since less force is exerted, it goes down to a lower value. The reading on the balance would decrease yes but theres no way that the pointer would move down? The spring is being pulled down LESS so it moves up.
I think what he's saying is the pointer moves up with more force, so when there's less force it will naturally go back down. The reading on the balance would decrease yes but theres no way that the pointer would move down? The spring is being pulled down LESS so it moves up.
