Do you guys think practicing with other ACER tests (like acer scholarship and UMAT) will help me with HAST because they're from the same organization? Or is the HAST completely different from other ACER tests?

Hey guys im kinda stuck rn

(im doing year 10 entry next year)

So this year I failed entry for my 3 schools and had an overall hast mark of top 30-35%. I want to go to a school that’s strong in physics, Chem and math mainly cause I’m gonna pick them for hsc

A few of my friends suggested Penrith because it’s a new class and it’s ranked higher than Girraween but honestly I have no clue where I want to go. After year 10 entry, if I don’t make any school I’ll just stick to my current school cause I heard year 11 entry is easy but also challenging to adapt to the new school and make new friends.

Any help would be appreciated

I heard that girra is strong in science subjects. Girra has always been ranked higher until recently since penrith has been rising, but either of them is alright tbh

no ruse would be a popular choice for like the top 10-20 ranked schools. Whilst Baulkho is a popular choice for even like 20+ ranked schools as well as <20 ranked schools. Also it depends on the year. There could be more for ruse in year 9 entry, but I mean given what schools everyone tries to transfer to, it usually is baulkho and then ruse

That's not true, there were quite a few people at orientation day who weren't from top 20s. One was from an unranked school

Does anyone know if ruse, girra and penrith are biased based on what preference you put their school for yr 9 entry? Idk what school to put as 3rd pref, because if I end up getting rlly good HAST or edutest results, do you think they might reject me because I didn’t put them as first pref?

I’m pretty sure it says on the James Ruse website that the first thing they consider when determining who gets in, is edutest results.

Oh yeah it’s unblocked LOL
I used to go library at lunch and read some forums but now our year 12s are doing hsc so they have priority to the desktops
Also I’m online on discord basically everyday now cause I finally fixed my video game addiction and I feel sooooo good )

I mean why not, theres no harm in trying. Although i think you should prioritise Girra and Penrith for year 10 entry, since only 1 person got into ruse year 10 this year
