I'll give one example - something about the dust on the moon, and if we really have been here for millions of years the thickness of the "moon dust" should have meant that people who have landed on the moon would have sunk!
And there are obscure mentionings of dinosaurs in the Bible, or at least animals that don't exist now. I am not sure on the exact locations in the Bible but I know they are there (and I am not talking about the creatures in Revelations).
So whereas scientists have their "proof", so do Christians.
Christianity comes from Judaism, the only difference (I think) is that the Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah.Generator said:Only a few thousand years despite the fact that a number of other religions predate today's christianity?

Yes I did, today's Christianity comes from Judaism. So Christianity is the people who were Jewish but believed Jesus was the messiah, descendants of the oldest religion.Generator said:I said today's Christianity... You didn't answer the question.
Well if you can "tear to shreds their beliefs" then they weren't really a good Christian. I don't have all the answers because I am not a minister or someone who studies the Bible. But I do know that there are too many coincidences, miracles etc for it to be wrong.eviltama said:and the more you argue with a christian the harder set in their ways they seem to become (and the more fun it is to tear to shreds their beliefs)!
Obviously if you it can be torn to shreds then their faith (regardless of religion) wasn't that strong in the first place. But it shows that the more stubborn people get about what they believe in the less strength their belief has because it can 'shatter' or be torn up by someone.. anyone who can get on the right topic. If your faith can't deal with change, then you are obviously much more vulnerable than someone who's ideas on their religion change not only with their growth but with the growth and change of society.. thats how religions should be and thats how you get long lasting true religions (in contrast to those who stay grounded in the same biases and same flaws they've always had and continue to develop more and more until it all falls apart).waterfowl said:Well if you can "tear to shreds their beliefs" then they weren't really a good Christian. I don't care what anyone says, I believe in God, I am a Christian, and no ridicule or anything will change that.
Sorry for intruding on this delightfully bigoted and extremely pointless conversation, but I would like to just point out that you couldn't tear your way out a paper bag. I cite your "ripping apart" of Christianity thus far in this thread as an example.and the more you argue with a christian the harder set in their ways they seem to become (and the more fun it is to tear to shreds their beliefs)!

having faith in something means that you actually acknowledge that its full of shit...but you faith in it...you decide to believe in it anyways
