Agree with you Vagabond, why UTS promote that they are the only one have life. UTS has 2 years study & 1 year work. Cadetship has 2 years study & 2 years work & study. If UTS assume that study is life, then.... Cadetship should have more "life" than UTS as they have 2 + 1/2 & 1/2 = 3?
Chances getting slimmer unfortunately, especially if you do not have a phone call till 6pm today.

MLC seems to have awesome grounds (4 times the size of my school?) when I was there for the career expo day, and ten times the facility. But it's also 4 times lower than my school rank. Haha.
You haven't seen Kings (5 criket field, 20 soccer fields, 20 tennis courts, cross country). Joeys...
In life, you pay for what you get, unless you are good enough to get into the top selective. Lots of parents work 2 jobs to send their kids to top Private. For what? Obviously they see the value for the money.
You are right.... all ends up with what's your budget.
If you do aware that Rodney Adler, James Packer etc are from Cranbrook. Then if you send your child to Cranbrook, you have chances to socialise with those high society and it would give you a chance to grow with them in the future...
Agree with your opinion.
Now need to distinguish the difference between which Private & Which Public we are talking about.
Private with 20K+ annually would have better library facility & teacher obviously, while similar situation with the 2 highs, north sydney boys & girls as well as baulkham...
They only call the top candidates directly after the interviews, there will be interviews tommorrow, wait till Wednesday afternoon. They will rank all the candidates again after the final lots of interviews and final offer will come out on Wed. I think.
Good Luck.
I think the first consideration is the location of the school. For Primary I won't send my kids to a prestigious Private if there is a great public or catholic school nearby.
For High School, if you can afford prestigious private (top tear 20K + annually) you might as well send them. The...
Am agree for you pay for what you get. High school is only once in a lifetime. So if your parents/grand parents earn enough to spend 20K ++ annually. It is the best investment.
Of course if you can get in Ruse or High will be great as you'll be subsidies from the Govt. But consider the quality...
Too many inputs from friends & family. Am still 17, still have plenty of energy to do well @ Uni with high profile subject/s. However is it worth to spend extra 2 years studying?
UNSW might be a bit higher profile due to the higher ATAR cut off rate. For me my parents finished post grad from there. Might stick with it, but UTS is much convenience for me, work & home. UNSW will be extra 1.5 hours / day. Feasible when doing FT study, not when PT, especially in a cold...
