Which Sydney scholarships were you after? Also, is the Wollongong course combined engineering (like your USYD preferred choices?) Personally, on the basis of convenience and aspirations, I think you should take the Sydney degree - like what others said, down the track the wollongong scholarship...

From experience, I think the best teacher for Chemistry (prelim/hsc) is Louise - she's VERY funny, makes lessons interesting and interactive, is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable (explains concepts REALLY well - if you don't understand something, don't hesitate to ask as she will take the time to...

Personally, Chem and Phys at matrix are EXCELLENT - they have dedicated teachers, VERY detailed notes, and each lesson you get short quizzes to reinforce your knowledge of theory AND exam technique (they mark it promptly and give feedback). I definitely recommend you to go!
