    4U math and Actuarial Studies

Don't pay for tutoring in uni, I'm not sure how macq does it but in unsw, the school provides tutors and drop-in centres for extra help alongside societies (mathsoc) who provide supplementary material such as crash courses and notes. I'm sure there will be something similar in macq and 4U stuff...

What is it gonna take for me to try and get raw 70s on both extension 1 and 2 when I am not ranked the best atm.

Exactly what C2H6O said Try to gauge how much you got to do all you want but no one knows what's going to happen on exam day Focus on yourself and the best outcome will appear

    lectures

Bridging course is an option but I advise against doing them; it's honestly better to just self-study before uni or lock in during the term Speaking from elec eng so far, you just get dropped into the maths and it's purely up to you to be familiar with it before the lectures cover the next topic...

    UNSW chit chat thread

Not really, you'll miss out on a free unsw hoodie and browsing all the societies while they're in one spot

    lectures

It's too early for you to worry about these things brother There are people that did 2u that survive engineering (albeit barely) You'll be fine especially for a commerce course in terms of maths

    lectures

You can get a good grasp on a course through its course outline which can be found on the unsw website

    Most likely pre-recorded lectures online

IS a bachelor of mechatronic engineering a good degree??

Mechatronics is literally just control systems I recommend choosing electrical and specialise in control since elec can apply for every mtrn job whereas the inverse is not true

How is everyone finding 4u? How much time is it taking out of everyone’s time?

4u will be worth your time if you want to pursue any engineering/math/physics related career

    Remarkable pro/2 vs an ipad?

I use a galaxy tab s9 ultra since it was on like 40% sale at the start of 2024 and it's all I need really Just get whatever's cheap and you'll be fine ngl (if you're using the tablet purely for notetaking)

    Remarkable pro/2 vs an ipad?

remarkable requires you to pay a subscription for full functionality which I'm a hard advocate against It's a hard downgrade from any normal tablet with a gimmick that it's distraction-free (which you can do yourself by not downloading any social media on your tablet) Just get an ipad or samsung...

    First year tips (updated)?

Join subcoms, it's rare to make meaningful/long term relationships in your lectures/labs/tuts

Studying Using Past Papers for Prelims and HSC

Just cover content asap and start past papers Nitpicking questions will take too long and is very inefficient Start from the most recent papers, progressing to the oldest

USYD vs UNSW [ Adv Computing vs Bsc (Comp Sci) ]

That's generally the feedback I've heard for unsw cs I haven't done many cs courses yet nor do I really know what it means for a course to be optimised so I can't give much info there but you can search up unsw cs courses online since they're all uploaded for free and see if the pacing is...

USYD vs UNSW [ Adv Computing vs Bsc (Comp Sci) ]

Don't trust rankings, they're very unreliable This shouldn't matter as you don't need accreditation for compsci afaik unlike engineering An extra year can speed up your career progression and give you more time in the industry -> more opportunities 1st and 2nd year cs courses at unsw are very...
