After completing the HSC in 2006 with high band 6s in Advanced English (96/100), Ancient History (97/100), and Extension History (48/50), I went on to study journalism, a pretty rigorous and vocationally-oriented course at the end of which saw me working as an editor for the university's environmental magazine. But my interest in literary fiction led me away from journalism into a Masters of Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Sydney, which I finished in 2014 with a long thesis on the American writer Annie Proulx. Having been given a taste of how fruitful the experience of thesis writing is, I've begun a longer research project for my doctorate studies on English and French interpretations of the Chinese script.
Photography, film, long historical dramas or comedies (of both the good and cheesy variety.)
