Who we are
Curtin University of Technology is Western Australia’s largest university with over 31,000 students, nearly 11,000 of those offshore and onshore international students and nearly 1000 research students. We take our name from the former Prime Minister of Australia from 1941-1945, John Curtin.

What we are

Where we are
Our main campus is situated in Bentley, six kilometres south of the centre of Perth, Western Australia’s capital city. Curtin has two additional metropolitan campuses and regional campuses in Kalgoorlie and Northam. Curtin officially opened its first offshore campus in 2002 in Miri, in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia.

What we do
Curtin offers over 850 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in business, engineering, health sciences, humanities, science, mining and agriculture. Our Centre for Aboriginal Studies offers bridging courses for indigenous students and the Vocational Training and Education Centre conducts vocational courses at Kalgoorlie and Esperance. Curtin also has an extensive Research and Development program.

Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a modern, dynamic and innovative university that prides itself on producing graduates who can operate effectively in today’s globalised workplace.

The key defining values of ECU are service, professionalism and enterprise. The University has a reputation for teaching excellence that dates back to the turn of the century. Courses are provided in the following Faculties: Business and Public Management; Communications, Health and Science; Community Services, Education and Social Sciences and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA@ECU).

ECU has four metropolitan campuses in Perth, located in the suburbs of Joondalup, Mount Lawley, Churchlands and Claremont. Plans are underway to consolidate activities to the Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses over the next five or so years. A regional campus is located at the city of Bunbury (200 kms south-west of Perth).

The University has approximately 20,000 students enrolled in over 160 courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to Australian students, the University has more than 1,600 international students who originate from more than 60 countries.

From its early entry into electronic distance education, ECU has developed a track record for technology based learning systems that are amongst the most advanced in Australia. More than half of the university’s student population utilise its virtual campus. Many courses are available exclusively through on-line study.

ECU works closely with private and public sector organisations, locally and overseas, in designing its study programmes. An emphasis on conducting research with industry partners in areas such as e-commerce, police studies, and human genetics has seen ECU develop a lively applied research culture.

The University’s strategic location in Perth, Australia’s western gateway to Asia and the Indian Ocean region, has resulted in ECU developing a strong focus on overseas activities. These include the off-shore delivery of a variety of courses in a number of countries in the region, student and staff exchange programmes with other universities, joint research activities, international consultancies and individual academic links.

Murdoch is a dynamic, modern university with some of the best-qualified academic staff in Australia and a flexible outlook that lets students ‘design’ the degree they need for their future.

Its total research income increased in 2000 and Murdoch achieved particular success in the ARC SPIRT system, which rewards industry collaboration.

Murdoch is home to more than 12,000 students and 1200 staff, including 1300 overseas students from about 40 different countries.

The University was founded in 1990 through an Act of the Western Australian Parliament and a Canonical statute from the Archdiocese of Perth, enacted on 2 July, 1991. In the 12 years since classes commenced, Notre Dame has rapidly gained a reputation for innovation and excellence in higher education.
