penrith is still worse off than girra in my eyes. im not saying the cohort or the school is bad, it's alr for a top 50 school but it's just alr. nothing to write home abt

even if the ranking is still better i 100% guarantee if the ranking system was based on average atar girra would 100% do better. i quite literally debunked the whole ranking thing in my other post.

just bc a cohort is better at certain subjects doesn't necessarily mean they are a better school. while being good at eng does boost your atar, there are many ppl that don't end up band 6ing eng that still get 95+ atars bc they are good at sciences and maths. same thing with social sciences and humanities subjects. although if i were to play your game i could say girra was objectively better at sciences than penrith is despite penrith's bs entrance criteria. their chem band 6 numbers are actually embarrassing considering they have like over 70 ppl apparently. i

although i would have to say that people that end up picking humanities/social sciences in a school like penrith (where ppl would prob be fighting over science subjects) may or may not have picked it bc they didn't make a science or they genuiely care abt the subject in which case i reckon thy would have had the drive to do well in it esp if they want a good atar. i don't know how many ppl do social sci in girra so i can't make that comparison but if i were to guess it would be less ppl.

if you don't like girra for facilities or social life, that's your business. for most ppl girra is easier to travel to, i have not heard many ppl say they go to penrith out of convenience.

i see the pshs 25 more as an accusation lol, i don't want to be associated to penrith icl. i can't believe ppl think that i am from there even after i've roasted it this hard
hey,

so im pretty sure ive seen you around school. if you're gonna wear your class of 2025 (or pshs 25) jacket, at least wear it with pride, and not hostility towards the school that's literally helping you to get the atar you want. if girras so much better there's no point in dragging our school on a forum -- better luck next time and i hope u get girra in ur next life:angel:

I go to a normal school and my shit mark in physics is still higher than the average of penrith 💀 that's what the retarded teachers get for gatekeeping a subject. Like why the fuck you using year 10 science, a subject thats all bullshit to determine future success in hsc science subjects? Also why the fuck are you even gatekeeping these subjects like they are fucking university level courses in the first place🤓🤡

imagine going to a selective school with the end goal of a high atar... just to fucking be forced to do humanities cause these retards didn't have enough space for science subjects despite being favoured for funding by the government. goes to show what a scam this whole thing is, and needs to be scrapped. Also for advanced mathematics, the average for both schools above is embarrasingly low... an 84, you literally have to get below 70/100 in the actual hsc exam for that to be possible, which is crazy considering they basically had to do an IQ test in order to enter, which is harder than the hsc adv mathematics exams

those rankings are shit and misleading, you have to individually go on google and search "(school) annual report" and see their averages individually

Seperating people on the basis of capitalism is worse, this is Sydney Grammar School, a school that costs 50k per year per student
Look at how awful they are at math 💀 17 + 3 E2s, do you realise how low you have to get in the final hsc exam? You had to get below 20/80 to get an E2 like a retard. I actually feel sorry for those 17 people's parents for paying such high fees to still end up as a failure 💀
What I'm saying is just attend the school in your catchment area, the school that's closest to you cause if you are dumb, you're always gonna be dumb. Still James Ruse and North Syd boys is the top school cause they have the highest averages for all subjects. Every other school you're better off just going to your closest school

tbf ruse and nsb are top schools bc of selection, like if ur selecting the top 1% of kids from yr 6 you best hope that they remain the top 1% once HSC comes round, teacher quality and stuff just maintains pre-existing skill and doesn't necessarily boost it

idk if this is a good way to compare schools but ik what some people do is look at yr 7 vs yr 9 naplan (myschools has the scores) - the more improvement there is between the two the better the school teaches their kids

for example baulko numeracy in 2022 (year 7) scored 743 and in 2024 (year 9) scored 752 (difference of 9)
vs sydney grammar in 2022 (year 7) scored 707 and in 2024 (year 9) scored 741 (also numeracy) (difference of 34)
sydney grammar in this regard seems to have a bigger improvement, but this only can really tell the teaching in junior years so by no means is a guaranteed comparison, and comparing for spelling and grammar is kinda useless bc it's not explicitly tested in the HSC so doesn't reflect HSC performance
obviously it depends on the cohort and stuff but that's my opinion, y'all can check the scores for girra and penrith if y'all are curious

my friend from nsb said the teachers dont even teach like AT ALL bc all the students go tutoring
their chem teacher said ‘why waste my time teaching you when i know all of you go tutoring’
tutoring is actually so retarded. Like why are you paying someone, who aren't even accredited by NESA to teach you a hsc subject? Like there are way more effective and efficient ways to learn on your own such as with a textbook. Plus the hsc papers and compilations of hsc questions are readily available online
