My name is also Chris and I'm sending you an message about your interest in asking people why they wanted to defer and choose the gap year. Well I've decided to do it, if i cant get directly into ADFA, and here's the main reasons why: -
1: The money is great - Not only would it help me get my student allowance, the pay you get from doing the gap year is still really good, you don't have to pay for your entire life, there's a lot of free services + bonuses.
2: I'm working on getting into the defence force myself and if i cant get into the courses/jobs that i want straight away, this is a good temp i could do until next selection.
3: The pure enjoyment - making new mates, networking, getting the psychical fitness and experience is well worth it in my opinion since you only have to do it for a single year.
