    Chem Question

No it's exactly double. The molar ratios are 2:1 as opposed to 1:1. The volumes obtained in a titration are linked to molar ratios and by the maths it can't be any different. Can you explain why you're kind of thinking that then I could explain the misunderstanding in that knowledge

Recs for Chemistry Workbooks with LOOOOTTSS of Practise questions particularly calculations.

Strive has questions sorted by topic. Other than that I would recommend to use trial papers and just go through those. There are so many available now for the new syllabus on websites like THSC that you are unlikely to run out of questions to practice

    2021 ATAR/HSC Marks

Congratulations 🎉 👏 to everyone who received their HSC marks and ATAR today Hopefully you got the marks you were aiming for and if not remember that in most cases you can perform well at uni during the 1st year and transfer into the course :)

    Chem Question

Strength of an acid / base is referring to the ionisation reaction where it dissociates in a solvent like water. It is not the same kind of principle when it is reacting with a base. If either of the acid or the base is strong the reaction will go to completion. It is true that we need to know...

So i deferred my offers for 6 months

Uni doesn't work the same way. People may have deffered their course like you, international students might have finished their schooling at a time that they enrol mid year, others might be doing the subjects in a different order as you may be already enrolled at university but then doing the...

confused with this mod 6 chem q any help appreciated

Normally if this question would come up in the HSC exam they will give you some hint. Have a look at the 2019 HSC exam there is a question involving NaOCl where they ask you to use the Ka for the HOCl acid to find the pH of the conjugate base solution. This one would be setup something like...

When do I need to do some past papers ?

Start straight away. This is something you should have been doing during Term 4 as well. When HSC students who have graduated and got good marks say do past papers to do well they are not implying do full HSC or trial exam papers from day 1. Instead they are saying you need to do exam like...

What's the point of going into honours when you can do a master of research?

If you have any other questions or anyone else on applying for these types of degrees feel free to post it here and I can answer it from my own experience in applying

What's the point of going into honours when you can do a master of research?

This is mostly correct but the Honours to PhD pathway is not only in Australia. It depends more on what mark you got in Honours. If you got a high mark (a high first class like a 90+) and some accomplishments along with it in the degree then you can apply to universities overseas and still gain...

What's the point of going into honours when you can do a master of research?

It's not that easy to secure such a scholarship. Maybe you need a credit for entry into the masters of research degree pathway, however the scholarship offering process is not the same. It's not like you get into the degree and you are automatically given a scholarship. This is a separate...

Test and compare your internet speed

Yeah running on the Wi-Fi at uni I had around 160 download and upload. Didn't expect it would be that much faster on the ethernet cable

Test and compare your internet speed

Wow I just moved to my studio at university for my PhD degree I'm starting and this is my internet speed. Bruh it's like 50 times faster than my house I used to live with my family.

    2u maths for UNSW CS

https://www.science.unsw.edu.au/study-us/undergraduate/bridging-courses/mathematics-bridging-course at the top it says the topics in the bridging course which are used in MATH1131

    2u maths for UNSW CS

If you've only done 2U you probably will struggle in Math1131 as the content assumes you know 3 unit maths. It's not a prerequisite but it is a good idea for you to take some bridging course or self study it so you are better prepared for the course.

    Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Try go outside for exercise like walking, jogging or ride a bike if you have one by yourself. There is not much risk to get infected if you are outside and keeping away from a crowd doing that. Although it isn't a socialising based activity with others, it will help to clear your mind and get...

UNSW vs UTS What should I choose?

The education standard is probably a bit higher at UNSW as the caliber of students going to that university is usually higher ATARs / entry requirements and it's a higher ranking university. However you kind of need to balance this with what do you value more since the trimester is a negative...

UNSW vs UTS What should I choose?

Like I said above in terms of the public transport going to either of the unis is pretty much the same for most students in terms of the time and type of transport It normally involves travelling to Central by a train. Then from central you go to the respective unis For UNSW - you take a light...

UNSW vs UTS What should I choose?

If you value having a more well rounded life while you are at university then UTS is probably better because it runs on 2 semesters and so there are more holidays + these holidays align better with your friends going to unis like MQ or USYD. UNSW at times can be quite stressful due to the...

UNSW vs UTS What should I choose?

It's not going to make much of a difference in this scenario. Both UTS and UNSW are in the city and only around 15 min each from central so it's not like asking about MQ / WSU vs UNSW / UTS / USYD, where there will actually be a difference in travel times depending on where you live

    Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Yeah same got screwed by it too since I had my honours research year and I lost 4 months of my lab time because I couldn't go to the uni. It was really annoying when people were allowed to go beaches and stuff while I couldn't just go to get an education and complete my thesis properly
