I'm curious, are you saying that ranks are important for internals (and marks are only important to get that rank) and the hsc exam mark is important for externals?

The only mathematics in Physics is changing the subject and basic trigonometry. You'll be fine with 2U.

98 is a really good ATAR! Yes, you can repeat your HSC up to 5 years I think, and no, repeating won't ruin your chances, but is it really worth it? Do you have to do medicine at UNSW?There are other uni's that offer it: Bond, WSU etc. Any other interests besides medicine? Your chances...

UNSW and USYD doesn't have prerequisites...yet. If you do Med in another state, like VIC, there are prerequisites. Which could include Med. But generally, no, Med does not need maths.
