    Thoughts on HSC chemistry 2015

LOL This hawkrider1 kid has an estimated ATAR of 99.75+

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive There is no equation for it protecting us Just refer to it as a UV radiation shield in the upper atmosphere (stratosphere) which prevents harmful UV-B and UV-C from reaching us which would otherwise cause skin cancers, melanoma's, etc. but it allows UV-A...

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I read over my acidic environment notes and yeah it doesn't have to be extremely pure, BUT it must be able to undergo processes and what not to reach analytical reagent (AR) purity which is like 99.9% (which is also going to be your ATAR :P)

    How to reduce phosphate concentrations?

EDIT: ^ That paragraph will reduce turbidity as well

    How to reduce phosphate concentrations?

Eutrophication can be counteracted by reducing the use of builders (phosphate based substances) in detergents that enter waterways - This often changes the nitrogen to phosphate ratio from the desired 10:1 (This ratio is a good indicator when the concentration of nitrates is >600 ppm and the...

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

re: HSC Physics Marathon Archive If you relate it to the formula it's independent of the mass of the object orbiting but dependent on the mass of the planet/celestial body Are you thinking about calculating the speed of an electron as it is deflected by an electric field and curves out a...

What would happen if you use a superconducting iron core in a transformer

I don't think it would work Transformers work by the principle of electromagnetic induction which requires an AC power source Cooper pairs only form when there's a DC power source since they only travel in one direction and so they would break if an alternating current were used

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive The criteria used to assess its suitability would be: * It's solubility * It's reactivity (It should not react violently with the water solvent) * It should have a high molecular mass (This puts off small measurement errors) * Whether it has a known...

    HSC 2015 MX1 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2015 3U Marathon You have to include the implication of it being subtended by the same chord It's like saying "co-interior angles in parallel lines" but it excludes whether they're equal, not equal, etc. so be specific and say "co-interior angles in parallel lines are supplementary"

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Brief response - Buffers are a solution of approximately equal amounts of a weak acid and its conjugate base that resist a change in pH when an acidic or basic substances are added. - They occur naturally in lakes such as the hydrogen carbonate buffer...
