All about investments and financial advsors

I've been stockpicking with real money for a good 2 years now - I don't necessarily consider that short-term but definitely not long term, that being said I've made well well over the average of any fund gains that have been had, and I could sit on this for 8 years and the gains would still be...

I hate my course :( What are my options?

Transfer to another university like UTS - do commerce there and achieve a mid credit average, and transfer back to UNSW after a year if you really want to stay at UNSW. External transfer are actually easier then internal for some reason

Obivously you need to study my words abit more - I've already read all this research about "index funds" which btw are still managed funds, and also index funds, you are not wrong or right. Secondly we were talking about financial advisors not about "managed funds" - in addition your "100%" is...

    The Asian Music Thread

The song your referring to is "ZeZe" which is another song released in her album, not this one. Think of what you will of that song, but listen to it first with subs.

All about investments and financial advsors

It's really short sighted to say you can beat investment advisors 100%, especially the likes of certain hedge funds and private equity funds - not to mention the vanguard "index funds" you mentioned are managed funds by Vanguard More fees has no correlation to what returns you can get - it can...

WAM needed to be competitive for jobs?

If that's the only thing you'll have on your resume, then yes it'll be kinda shit, but if you combine it with a few good ECs and some work experience, then your doing just fine. Obiviously having better marks doesn't hurt, but it's not end all especially when having other things on your resume.

Full Time Job + Distance Uni Education?

Depends how much you want to really enjoy the university life, if you don't care about it just go through open university and get it over with and focus on your career - the whole uni experience can be really great though, and you can meet some life-long friends and/or at the very least network...

    I need a job

I think it depends on the area too - I know for my Mcdonalds they regularly hire peeps over 16 for day work and 9pm+ - because most people don't want to work past nine and people who graduate tend to get better jobs (like me ^^)

Jobs you can get with commerce degree?

Lmao, that's actually really bad advice, even with your language skills I'm sure you meant what you just meant.

    I need a job

Numerous isn't good enough - your fighting against for like thousands of post-HSC students and even uni students for job - you need volume and luck on your side - don't be picky at all and have good availability for any job you apply - apply for like everything you can, I mean at least like...

Where can this double deg take me and what are the best majors?

I feel like human resources won't have much relevance to his goals of systems analyst or project management unfortuantely. You will do basic compulsory subjects at uni for most majors as an introduction, so dont worry too much in choosing them quite yet - in terms of business major -...

HELP! Majors for Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW?

I don't think you understand what makes commerce "mainstream" maybe? The fact is that Commerce has a wide range of majors and has decent employability prospects - and distinctions aren't handed out either, as long as your decent you'll find a job - maybe not at a multinational but a job...

All about investments and financial advsors

You need to understand that Finance and investments are really, really broad - Financial advisors do not just talk/sell investing - they are essentially there to help you grow your money - they help you budget and save - which seems exactly what your parents like to do. They are able to offer a...

First day on a software engineering job -- what to expect?

Mate - I got a kid in school who i buddied in year 10, he's now grown up and just did his HSC. He started his own app business, doing consulting + apps for a few boutique firms already That's because he bothered to learn IOS development and Java early on and now he's proabably going to be...
