    Inform unis of rejection?

Hey guys. might be a silly question but do you need to inform unis that you don’t plan on accepting their offers? I’m still getting regular emails from my early entries to enrol and stuff even though I don’t plan on going there

    4U Math and 4U English - 95+ Atar?

What are your other subjects? If it's something like Phys and Chem it might get overwhelming. The thing with Ext 2 English is, you do end up spending a whole heap of time on your MW. It's a 1-unit subject with essentially a 2-unit workload. Constant drafting, redrafting, chatting with teachers...

    USYD or UNSW Law?

^as above. For UNSW I got to apply through Gateway and can apparently receive a $10k scholarship for my first year. They also offer more options for the second major of the double degree, including one that I am interested in (Bachelor of PPE). On the flip side, I've heard that USyd law is...

WILL I GET BEAT BY MY PARENTS?! (atar estimate pls)

unrelated but out of curiosity, did your teacher use the french teachers nsw paper for your continuers trials?

    state ranks list release?

outta curiosity, when do they release the list of people that got state ranks in each course? I know the first in course is announced like a day before we get results. Would the list of the other state ranks be released then too? on that note, will I see any of you fine folks on there when it...

    Studying for Japanese continuers

Didn't do Japanese but I think the same sort of advice applies to all modern language courses. Just immerse yourself in the sound of the language as much as you can. You don't have to always be doing listening papers to improve this skill. You could be listening to Japanese podcasts on your way...

    HELP!!!! SOS HISTORY EXT PEEPS

Not a royal buff, but a general rule of thumb is to never do anything that's been covered extensively in academic literature, or stuff that's so ingrained in public conversation that it becomes cliche (ie. in your case, anything to do with Princess Diana, or for that matter most of the living...

    atar prediction?

    1. Read your prescribed texts ahead of time: English texts will take time to understand deeply, so give yourself that opportunity by reading them ahead of time. The holidays after Year 11 to read Common Mod, the summer holidays to (ideally) read Mod A and B. Even if you're just passively...

    atar prediction?

just smash everything else and the damage will be minimal :D i know a guy that got band 6s for 4u maths, phys, chem but a band 5 for eng but still got 99.5 atar speaking as a humanities student, it's a crap policy of making English alone compulsory in calculating atar.

screwed for history extension, need tips

What my History Extension teacher always tells me: the key to a good HSX essay is your own voice. HSX is highly philosophical, theoretical, and subjective. Therefore, being able to give your own opinion on the historians, historiographical issues and areas of debate is key, and differentiates...

    What do y'all reckon?

What do you need to state rank? (completely hypothetical)

I'm curious about what kind of standard you need to state rank in Language subjects like French (Continuers). After all, your final mark/ internals moderation is so dependent on your external HSC.

    Scaling for small cohorts

I'm curious about how scaling works, especially for small language cohorts. I'm doing French Continuers and we have 3 students in our class. How would scaling work in that case? I've been told that it still works the traditional way, while others say that my final mark would just be my external...
