Bachelor of Medical Sciene Griffith Univeristy 2015 (MD-Provisional Entry for Leaver)

Re: Bachelor of Medical Sciene Griffith Univeristy 2015 (MD-Provisional Entry for Lea Nathan doesn't have a medicine program, so the undergrads at Nathan will eventually have to move down to the GC to commence their med degree. If you're not originally from Brisbane, then it might as well be...

    Reformation/shift in medical system

I'm sure we all agree that cost-cutting is the last thing we want to hear from any government especially with regards to healthcare, but that does not necessarily mean that we should absolve ourselves from scrutinising and evaluate the efficiency of the current system. As I said before, I think...

    Reformation/shift in medical system

Fair point, and yeah, I guess the biggest problem with that would be a much greater potential not to detect serious illnesses from trivial illnesses as you said. Having said that, of course doctors make mistakes here and there but the more training you have the less likely you'll make such...

    Reformation/shift in medical system

Based on anecdotal evidence and my own observations, I feel that nowadays GPs are primarily (of course not always) treating patients either for flu or depression, and just being the first point of contact either to 1) prescribe medication or 2) refer to a specialist. This system is inefficient...

Bachelor of Medical Sciene Griffith Univeristy 2015 (MD-Provisional Entry for Leaver)

Re: Bachelor of Medical Sciene Griffith Univeristy 2015 (MD-Provisional Entry for Lea Hey :) Brisbane student here as well, might be able to help you out a bit. That's definitely not true, Griffith was definitely lying. I know a fair bit of people who didn't get as high of the scores as you...

5 years bonded vs 7 years unbonded

It seems that you got a 99.90 ATAR (is this right?)...why didn't you choose Melbourne Uni Medicine?

Anyone receive an offer for Griffith med?

I'm in a situation whereby I can accept to study Griffith Med in the GC and risk being bonded if I end up being in the bottom 25% of the cohort, Or apply for 2nd round offers for UQ Med but definitely bonded (my UMAT is good enough for bonded but just missed out on unbonded places) Which would...

Getting into USyd for 2nd Round Offers?

Thanks so much Sirable1, feeling more reassured now, although can't be too complacent at the same time!

Getting into USyd for 2nd Round Offers?

Thank you! I didn't know they indicate vacancies - will be helpful indeed. If Advanced Science has no vacancies my Plan B would be to enrol in a Bachelor of Science (as 2nd preference for 2nd round offers) and then transfer to Advanced science within USyd's faculty of science.

Anyone receive an offer for Griffith med?

Gold Coast has really new facilities, as well as a nice university hospital next to the campus - so should have sufficient opportunities! The only catch is that, while there is provisional entry to Med at Griffith, the bottom 25% [percentile] of the cohort will have to be bonded (even if they...

Getting into USyd for 2nd Round Offers?

To clarify: I am planning to reorder my preferences for the 2nd round and let go of the UNCLE offer - so before I do so, I would like to know the risk I am taking...

Getting into USyd for 2nd Round Offers?

Hey guys, so somehow I structured my UAC preferences really poorly such that I have a high chance of getting into UNCLE instead of USyd for my main round offers (for a particular course). I've now changed my mind - now I'm hoping to do a Bachelor of Advanced Science at USyd instead. Assuming I...

    how to take notes?!

This might sound like a stupid question, but are your lecture slides available to you prior to each lecture? If so, it would be so easy to write additional notes on the slide printout. Symphonicity implies this is the case, but just clarifying this again.

    'Sydney Scholars' scholarship

I'm pretty sure they're quite strict on the 99.95...but if you do receive an email can you update us on that? Would anyone know how competitive the USYD med interviews (guaranteed entry) are?

    Labour and Liberal

Labor focuses on giving everyone a go and ensuring equality across the nation Liberal is quite economically oriented/driven (e.g. deficit vs. surplus) and also may aspire to bring the country to become more globally competitive in terms of the economy Also, Greens...nice intentions but often...

    Melbourne University MMI Interviews

Hi all, I'm applying to Melbourne Uni for a Bachelor of Science CSP with the intention of pursuing the Doctor of Medicine program (MD). According to VTAC/UoM, anyone with a 99.90 or 99.95 ATAR will be accepted for the Chancellor Scholars Program, with a guaranteed entry into MD. The funny...

Missing out on exams. Will this affect my OP?

Year 11 doesn't count with regards to failing/passing, but I'm not sure whether missing an exam would be detrimental - you should ask your head of studies at your school. Also just to let you know most BoS users here are from NSW and sometimes VIC, you will rarely see qlders - better to use...
