    I know both have their strengths and weaknesses..but I still can't decide :( is there anything that SIGNIFICANTLY distinguishes these two courses besides level of programming and maths involved? maybe once my HSC marks come out, it might be easier to choose...

    Also not everyone has 24 Mbps internet download speeds. therefore optical media is the more logical choice when installing large volumes of data.

    nah, it's a bit like high-tech lego. There's always plenty of guides on the internet (google/youtube,Tom's hardware etc) or manuals supplied by the manufacturer if you get stuck. but If you're a complete novice I would suggest a professional to do it, as you might cause more harm than good.

    I read the specs of the read/write speeds. The GT has an extra 5 MB per second advantage, that's about it. Hmmm is that worth an extra ~$30
