I did 12 units for my HSC and I do regret it alot. I definitely did not need that "safety net". Honestly I think it is better to have 10 units so you have more time to focus on the others.

definately! one of my friends came first in 2unit and she does not have a tutor. I know she does her homework most days and she is always reading haha. Try to stay a little bit ahead so that you can consolidate your knowledge. I mostly do 4u maths with my tutor and she gives me tips on how to do...

for maths, I recommend you try to do maths everyday, the aim is to expose yourself to as many different types of questions as you can. Even one question a day can probably benefit you. \ try to stay up to date and read a little bit ahead or go ahead with your tutor (if you have one).

I say that I'm aiming for 99.95 but there is no way I'm expecting it. People aim higher so that they can achieve higher. It's like setting limits, say if I aimed for 90, I will probably get 80 if you get what I mean. Personally, I like aiming for the impossible so that no limits are set for me.
