    Semester 2 electives: MATH1004+1023, PSYC1002 or PHIL1002?

Thanks! Just noticed that typo :p I'm suspecting that MATH1903 might be pretty similar to 1023 considering the name is only slightly different (Integral vs Multivariable)? After reading the reviews, I'm leaning towards the maths subjects and PHIL1012 because the PSYC1002 report sounds like a pain.

    Semester 2 electives: MATH1004+1023, PSYC1002 or PHIL1002?

Hey guys, I'm in my first year of a B Arts/Adv Studies degree and was going to major in linguistics + hearing and speech. However, I dropped BIOS1163 (Speech Science) just before the census date because I couldn't motivate myself to study anatomy. Still doing CSCD1034 (Linguistics and...

    Post your 2017 ATAR below!

Congrats! Don't worry about wasting your score, being able to study what you like is far more important

    Post your 2017 ATAR below!

I'm considering USyd, UNSW and MQ

    Post your 2017 ATAR below!

75.41 Could've been better, but it could've also been worse. I'm just going to apply for foundation programs/pathways in case I don't get any offers
  6. Procrastinator103

    ATAR Lower than Calculators?

The calculators said 77-79, ended up getting 75.41
  7. Procrastinator103

    Got an atar of 41.35

Macquarie's standard foundation program requires a Year 11 qualification with a minimum average mark of 50%. (source: https://www.mq.edu.au/study/international-students/how-to-apply/college-pathway-programs/academic-requirements) Otherwise you could look into science related courses at TAFE?

    Signing off letters/emails in exams

I know we're not supposed to write our real names anywhere on the exam paper, but if they ask us to write a letter or email in Reading and Responding Part B and/or Writing, what would you sign off with?

    Computer science/linguistics double degree?

I'm doing 2 foreign languages (continuers) for the HSC and want to take a gap year to study them at my own pace, as well as improve my writing skills in my other native language because I haven't practised ever since I came here in year 9. Of course I'll try to get a job or internship during...

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

I get the concepts, but I spent too much time studying the wrong topics for the half yearly. I thought there'd be a 7-8 mark question on uses/environmental impact of ethanol and didn't study dry cells or lead acid cells.

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

Um... studying foreign languages (those are my best subjects), maybe pharmacy, maybe engineering, maybe something IT related (I can't code but I could teach myself if I need to), I'm not sure. Definitely wouldn't want to become a teacher though.

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

I'm not sure if I even want to do engineering tbh, just trying to keep my options open for now. But yeah I've narrowed it down to dropping one of the sciences.

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

Thanks. I'll probably do better in everything else once I drop something anyway – more free periods and less work to do.

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

Thanks, but is there any reason why? Welcome to the forum btw

How did you find/hear about us?

I was looking for tips on what subjects to pick in year 10

Should I drop maths ext 1, chemistry or physics?

I've been struggling with most of my subjects this term because I can't handle the workload, and I know that I need to drop something so I'll have more time to work on my other subjects. If I'd dropped something earlier, I might've done better but I would've regretted dropping the wrong subject...

How much should I study over the holidays?

I'm going overseas with my family for about 2 weeks in total and I probably won't study during that time. Taking family dinners, unexpected visits, and shopping trips into account, is 3-4 hours a day enough? I averaged about 1 hour a day throughout year 11, and I need to try much harder next...
  18. Procrastinator103

    Should I drop a subject? 11 or 13 units?

I just did 2 unit maths this year, and I'll have 11 more units (13 in total) if I don't drop anything. - English Advanced - Maths Extension 1 - Chemistry - Physics - French Continuers - Japanese Continuers I'm not sure about my own ranks because my school hasn't given them out, but they're...

How different is Preliminary Chemistry to HSC?

Thanks everyone, I needed to know this because I just failed the prelim exam

prelim notes for physics and chemistry

Thanks, these notes are really helpful! My prelims are in less than 2 weeks and I just started studying haha
