brings up all this information relating to the last chip card transaction.. some legal requirement that we have to be able to produce this information if a customer requests it... eh..

Has anyone else experienced pinpads freezing since 9.3 upgrade? Customers aren't able to select their accounts on the pinpad... sometimes pulling out/putting the cord back in and eft logon fixes it, sometimes it doesn't... and have to restart the POS. Pain in the ass, had to save transactions on...

tested it when there were no customers one day.... took 5 minutes to load the webpage then another 2 minutes to load the keyboard... we've pretty much just kept using the paper form and doing it later... :S edit: our registers are perfectly fine, perhaps a bit faster.... the only one that gives...

we used to have 16 full lane, 4 express, 2 smokeshop. Now we have 12 full, 3 express, 2 smokeshop and 5 self-serve. Works out to be the same (22 tills) but now we need all lanes manned on Thurs nights, Saturdays & Sundays 9-4... and it's not even Christmas yet... :S Last Saturday a customer...

my store is pretty much exactly the same as your 'km' store. except seafood is separate from deli (on back wall behind produce) and self serve checkouts between service desk/express and trolley bay.

This sounds silly but I have a few operators that ask 1 billion questions when I ask them do to something. I mean, 500 customers will be bearing down on us at once and they will be bugging me with 20 questions about how I want something done... ok it's good that you're asking but really, I have...

yesterday this bogan pushed the self-serve attendant out of the way when she tried to tell her she couldn't leave through there... then she came back about 5 minutes later with her husband i guess in an attempt to further accost the attendant but luckily our store manager was nearby an prevented...

I noticed the SCOs @ Big W have a little attendant station at the exit where the attendant can stand and see what's going on all the other SCOs at once... nifty! I guess they don't bother putting that in at Woolies cuz they think Big W is more high risk items... bleh!

it probably won't work. won't it say the tender needs to be the same value? EDIT: nevermind, I had a blonde moment then and didn't read what you said properly, lol. theoretically it could work lol. anyways, i've had that happened before even after i've confirmed with them what they want so...

You only need to do a tender swap if it's credit, otherwise you can just do a cash purchase, so if you're waiting for a supervisor to come fix it up just ask if it's savings.... At least Woolworths doesn't make you put in for till shortages anymore....

had a couple of manuals this morning... love how when i ask the 2ic "don't you need to call IT for an authorisation number?" she goes "only if it's over a certain amount *clackers*" hmmmm, pretty sure it wouldn't ask you to process manual if it was under the floor limit.... these were like $200+...

^^^ The area office is above your store, so the HR officer works from there, Phillipa Thompson. Service 100 today... you know heaps of people steal and get away with it so it's good to catch one, especially a serial shoplifter - an older lady, very calculated.

oh man, I got that great job once. Boy that was fun.... lol, better than being on registers I guess.. :P Our archive room is up above the systems office (all our offices are on the ground floor so it's sort of an attic up there) and I remember just throwing boxes and shit down the steps and...
