I picked parallel as well, was originally thinking pilot. For the computer networks to aid their development I go stumped for a bit. Had to hardcore bullshit that one. Wrote they could get direction from the networks and feedback from lending out shareware copies, definitely some bullshit haha.

Maybe find some good summaries other people had made, try to memorize them and apply this knowledge to old papers. Otherwise try making your own summary off these. Also buying the latest excel book and reading that if the stores still have them may help.
