It's the consensus that the first related text that appears in your essay will be the one marked. .. unless BoS choose the unfair option and mark the better one.

There's no need for all this hate. I do feel sorry for those who mistakenly wrote about two, but since it's already done and we don't ever get to see our raw exam marks anyway, there is really no point of people getting so worked up about it. It wouldn't be very fair if they take your best one since you get two shots at it. I don't think there's anyway around it. Either they mark your first one and disregard your second completely, or you lose marks.
