This question stuffed me up for a while for this exact reason, until I read the question again

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon Here's another one inspired from the one in the 4U paper today - it's a little bit different though \int \frac{\sqrt{cosx}\ sinx}{1 -sec^{2}x}\ dx

Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon Here's what I did: Edit: I don't know if there's any mistakes, there might be

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon I have a question for you Paradoxica, it's easy but oh well: \int \sqrt{\frac{x-1}{17-x}}\ dx

Lol how do you think you went overall tho? Tbh I reckon I probs got around 40-45% for 4U, as long as marking isn't ridiculously harsh

Anyway, what's the bet that Ekman got over 70 in the 4U test?

    Official BOS Trial 2015 Thread

Fair enough, all the locus in q14 was more than enough to incite someone to leave lol

    Official BOS Trial 2015 Thread

Nek minnit you get 135% Why'd you leave early tho? I looked up after the exam and you had disappeared
  9. porcupinetree

    Official BOS Trial 2015 Thread

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't even make it past 35% lol

4U wasn't too bad I guess, I died in 3U though, didn't even attempt half the paper lol I did it using binomial theorem - I don't know if I got it right though, it was towards the end of the exam and I was getting flustered lol

I might be a tiny bit late - 9:25 at the latest

    State rank question

Typically, for extension 1 maths and the easier courses (2U and general), several people achieve the top mark. From what I've heard from teachers who have previously worked as BOS judges, they collect all these 'top mark' papers together and judge who's working out is more...

    Physics or Chemistry???????

Personally, I have enjoyed chem more than physics - not due to the difficulty of either course, but simply because I find the content more interesting (generally). However, if you enjoy physics significantly more than chem, then I'd suggest sticking with physics.

    Questions regarding exam

    1. How important is it to follow the directions during the option section "answer parts (a) to (c) in writing booklet 1, etc"? I'm planning to write quite extensive responses and am unsure I'll be able to fit it all in 2. Do they scan the exams in colour or in grayscale? If anyone could...

stupid shit you've done in class

Someone in my grade at my school once threw an eraser at a fan and it rebounded and hit the teacher in the head

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

    Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon Here's a cool little one I came up with, probs too easy for y'all ;) \int \frac{2x^{5} + 15x^{2}}{\sqrt{x^6 + 14x^3 + 66}}

HSC 2015 MX2 Integration Marathon (archive)

Re: MX2 2015 Integration Marathon Finally a question which isn't completely nuts Although I do quite enjoy reading Ekman's and Paradoxica's solutions to some of their harder integrals, I admit.

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I have absolutely no idea what I'd write

    Official BOS Trial 2015 Thread

Question for 4U: how many 'famous' mathematical theorems/proofs are proved in the exam? e.g. last year there was Gaussian integral, the year before (iirc) there was a proof for 1/1^2 + 1/2^2 + 1/3^2 +..... = (pi^2)/6

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

re: HSC Physics Marathon Archive When dropping the magnet in the copper tube, the magnet accelerates at -9.8ms^-2 (due to gravity), creating a changing magnetic flux which induces an emf in the copper tube. Due to Lenz's law, the eddy currents generated in the copper tube by this emf will...
