    Who has bought their textbooks??

I buy my textbooks secondhand through textbookexchange.com.au, or borrow them off my sister's boyfriend who has just completed the same degree as me. Of course, if a subject changes its required textbook, I have to buy the new one, that sucks.

    Backpacks for uni

My backpack = my car boot. For the rest of the journey I use a novel item called my handbag + hands. I have over 60 different styles of backpacks at work atm (surf shop), but the only people getting them are school kids. Go figure :P

Ohhh you work at Shitty Beach...I work at a competitor of yours :P

If i pick a unit, am i going to be doing that unit?

To be honest, that was just judging on the size of our BA core subject cohorts (for example, Australia and the World had 700 places for lectures and tutes last semester and most of them filled), so my numbers may be inflated due to people from other courses taking the subject as an elective...

    b of psychology elective units

It could mean they're from different schools, but I'm not sure about that one, sorry. I would check with UWS's student learning centre just in case though!

    primary teaching at uws

BlackBackpack, I'm assuming you're doing your BA with a pathway to primary teaching? If so, two of your subjects will be core BA subjects, one will be one related to your arts major and one will be related to teaching (eg Early Mathematical Thinking). If you're just doing a BA, two of your...

If i pick a unit, am i going to be doing that unit?

My cohort for Arts at UWS at Penrith alone is about 600-700 students, it's likely yours will be as large. What unit are you choosing? It is likely that it will run, just make sure you choose a level 100 as most level 200+ have prerequisites and would be challenging for first years.

    b of psychology elective units

As it's your elective and you already have your core subjects picked (the psych ones), I would see no need for you to pick a unit set as your major isn't criminology. I would double check this in case I'm wrong though...but I picked a Social Science subject last Autumn without a unit set and it...

    b of psychology elective units

You can do any level 100 unit as your elective, but obviously not a level 200 + as they have prerequesites. Choose one that's at your home campus (Bankstown). Not sure if there's many level 100 psych subjects besides what you'll be doing as your core subjects, so maybe choose something you're...

    Am i doing something wrong?

First up, you definately need to work on spelling and grammar in your resume. Recruiters/employers receive a lot of resumes and those with errors will make them cringe. Go through it with a tooth and comb, there are lots of mistakes in there. Get someone to help you if you cannot see what these...

    Workplace Ombudsman

The head office for Mcdonalds Australia is in Thornleigh, NSW: 21-29 Central Avenue THORNLEIGH 2120 NSW AUSTRALIA I can't find a phone number for it, try looking at their website. When you get in touch with them, ask for a HR department or something. Of course, try and resolve this with the...

    Buying Textbooks (Firstyears)

I second this, it's a brilliant website and saves you a lot. I could not live without my textbooks in my degree, if you want to do well then don't go off lecture notes alone lol.

    Missing the pill?

Vomitting, diarrhoea and antibiotics can also affect the effectiveness of the pill. Why didn't you take another active pill when you dropped the first one? I second the condoms a week.

Is the University of Western Sydney really as bad as people make it out to be?

Your loss. It's nice to see SOME people using common sense in this thread. Your performance at any university will matter much more than how far east the university is located, or whether the buildings are brick or sandstone. My sister starts her PhD soon. She went to UWS herself - graduated...
