    Hence the thread bump :)

What did you think of the UPC?

54 views, noone have experience with UPC? I thought they always had full classes.

What did you think of the UPC?

I've decided which degree I want to get into and as I'm now classified as a mature aged student (23) and only completed year 10, I'll be enrolling into the University Preparation Course given by USYD next year. According to what degree I hope to get into I need to enroll in Mathematics & Science...

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

Anyone have experience with the UPC offered at Uni of Syd? To be considered in the degree I'm after I'd only have to attend every Sat (9am - 1pm) for UPC Science and every Mon (6pm-8pm) from March - September. But if I chose to do the TPC at TAFE I think it'll be a lot more class time and it...

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

That's what I'm hoping for - next year I'll be doing the Tertiary Preparation Course which prepares mature aged students or non-recent school leavers for university. I'm not 100% whether they'll start at basic knowledge and then go into the more advanced stuff or not but I'd much prefer it if...

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

Well it is a medical degree so of course its going to be very very hard ;) Can't say I'd put in 5-6 years of my life and ~$10k+ per year and not make it my number one priority though, kind of why I'm glad I didn't go to uni at 18yo because I would've done something I don't think I'd enjoy as...

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

Thanks for the reply :D And yes it was the latter. I wasn't sure there was a year 10 refresher course, will look into it now - I see where you're coming from too, I attempted my HSC previously (maybe 2 years ago) but dropped it as I couldn't handle the work load and was still not 100% what I...

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

Thanks for the reply! Seems like a okay idea, though prices and scheduling seem a bit crazy. Each is 7 days, once a year (from what I could see), 9am - 5pm and $350 plus text books but may be what I need to be up to/surpass HSC levels. Any other ideas?

How can I better prepare myself for such a competitive degree?

I left school after I received my Year 10 Cert. and am now 23 years old - basically left (big mistake) because I didn't know what I wanted to do so just worked. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity of learning what I wish I had which was the basics of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and...

HSC & Student ID etc ..

But how do I find out both, who do I contact and basically ask what numbers are under my name?

HSC & Student ID etc ..

Last year I did my HSC at TAFE (one class) while this year I'm doing one more I'm trying to make sure everything is in line as I think they've given me 2 student numbers. How do I get all the information to make sure everything in is line as far as student/HSC numbers go? I'm currently doing my...

If I don't make the cut off ..

I'm 21 now so technically I'd already be a mature aged student but I wanted to goto Uni with my HSC :) The Uni I'd contacted recommended I try get work experience or work in general with a Veterinarian, they'd also take into account family involvement (eg; if your dad is a Vet etc) however that...

If I don't make the cut off ..

Next year I'll be aiming to enrol in Vet. Science or Zoology however at this point I think my goal is Vet. Science - what will be the best option if I don't make the cut offs for Vet. Science, where should I go from there? I believe they'll be asking for a ~96 UAI I'm working on getting in as...

    Advanced English vs Standard English

I remember my teacher saying its better to be in the top of standard english than at the bottom of advanced :)

So I want to study Vet Science/Zoology..

Thanks for the reply. Ideally if I chose to become a Vet I'd like to be a zoo/wildlife Vet however would like the options to travel also - I'll be applying wherever I can and relocate if necessary :) I don't think I'll go for Physics as I'm not sure how I'd handle 3 science subjects in a single...

So I want to study Vet Science/Zoology..

Thanks for the replies! I'm just worried I'll pick the wrong subjects and end up with a UAI mark thats too low but I wouldn't mind doing a bridging course either. What would happen if this year I did something like: - English - Biology - General maths - Physics - Chemistry Would my UAI be...

So I want to study Vet Science/Zoology..

Might seem obvious but I'm thinking of the following combination for 2010: - English - Biology - Chemistry - PDHPE (Isn't mentioned for Vet Science as maths is but it may push my mark up) OR the subjects recommended by universities for Vet Science - English - Maths - Biology - Chemistry (I...

Few questions on the case involving Sef Gonzales

Did you find that any legal issues were raised during the case? (Besides Sef Gonzales's appeal which was dismissed in regards to him allegedly not being cautioned correctly) How would you express reasons for his punishment? He is serving three consecutive life sentences, kind of an 'eye for an...
