Every time I come across one in a maths exam, I can never see what I'm meant to do. Nothing visually connects for me.
Does anyone have any techniques on breaking down these types of questions?
School rank: 40
Adv maths rank: 14/72
"Report" mark: 90 (I'm assuming my submitted assessment mark is a little higher than this)
What should I be aiming for in the exam for a final HSC mark of 95? I know it depends on how hard the test is, but a rough estimate would be appreciated =P
So, there's always a part in a question which asks "Find for which values of x is f(x) concave up [or down]" - usually for some cubic curve for Geometrical Applications of Differentiation.
I'm not 100% sure how to approach this. I know there's a way to do it graphically, but I'd like to know...
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty much a chronic pen spinner. I've been doing it ever since Year 9 or so. From pencils to highlighters to rulers, I'll twirl stuff around. Is this bad? Does anyone else have the same problem?
How do you spend your breaks? I'm assuming a majority of you only have around an hour to spend for each break, so what do you do?
For me, I just play the computer a bit. I'm thinking of setting up my punching bag for some exercise though.
Thoughts?

Thanks!
Cutoffs to most courses are slightly altered each year, right?
What causes these changes?
Is it the amount of people that entered that course this year, or the amount of people that applied for that course this year?
Report mark: 90 (this is not my submitted assessment mark)
School rank: 40
Subject rank: 14/72
How well do I need to perform in the HSC exam to get a HSC mark of ~94?
Thanks in advance! =]

Which student would be in a better position for a higher physics HSC mark?

I know the ranks are pretty deplorable, but the marks are pretty decent, and its a selective high school. This means my raw marks will scale up to be submitted for...
I would like to see the past UAI requirements for my desired course over the past few years to get an idea of what it might be next year.
Does anyone know if you can view old UAC guides on the internet somewhere? Google only gives me this year's guide =[
I'm mainly interested in University of...
I'm currently reading over Keep It Simple Science, and it doesn't provide much info on this point.
I know it relates to the impacts of AC electricity on society, but are there any specific impacts that the development of transformers contribute to?
Thanks in advance =]
So I've got a prac assessment next week. Our questions are based on all the in-class investigations we have carried out in Production of Materials and Chemical Monitoring & Management.
I'd like to know if there are any online resources that fully draw out and explain these pracs.
Main pracs I...
