Maybe you could think about taking MATH1081 in 18s1. Or by taking MATH1081 in 17s2 and delaying taking COMP1521 until the following year, as from what I can see COMP1521 isn't a prerequisite for many courses.

UNSW Lecture Recordings System
We are currently experiencing an issue with the UNSW Lecture Recordings system. Users are unable to access recordings and we are unable to add any new ad hoc recording requests. UNSW IT are working urgently to fix the issue.
I think its actually a glitch and just ENGG1000 clashing with its self, not MATH1141. Anyway you've enrolled sucessfully, (timetables blue), so its fine to leave it.
I did it last year in second semester and thought it was a good idea. Adding to your above points some Discrete content overlaps with both MATH1231 and COMP1927 quite nicely as well.

1. No. I once had two five hour blocks on the same day and it was doable.
2. Generally the first week will only be lectures. However a select few courses run labs/tutorials in the first week, where they will likely notify you beforehand by e-mail. If you do...
