Apart from SDD, I've finished every subject in terms of content. I also just sat my trial exams and these were my results:
English - 62
SDD - 77
Maths - 70
Business - 74
Economics - 66
I'm relatively happy considering I did minimal study. I pretty much only studied for maths and it was quite...
I am trying to find the sum for this, but since the series starts at n=2 the formula isn't giving me the correct result. I've tried doing S10 = (a(r^n-1))/r-1 since |r| > 1. However, I get the wrong result by a big margin. How do I evaluate questions such as this when the first term isn't 0 or 1?
Just wondering if I can get an ATAR estimate from half yearly ranks.
School rank: 500+
Standard English: 17/76
2U Maths: 6/21
Economics: 5/7
Business Studies: 6/24
SDD: 2/3
Thanks :)
A parabola has a focus at (0, 4) and its vertex is at (0, 2). Find the equation of the parabola.
I graphed the focus and vertex, and since the vertex is the midpoint between the focus and directrix we can say the directrix is at y=0. So we can say the focal length is 2, a=2. Then we can sub...
Hello,
I'm just wondering if I can get some assistance sketching some trigonometric graphs. I've been able to do the earlier ones, but when the question changes the period I have trouble. e.g:
y = 2cos4x \quad for \quad 0 \le x \le 2\pi
So we know the amplitude is 2, so is the period 4pi/2? I...
I have a test coming up this Thursday and was wondering if I can get some questions to answer for a little practice. The test covers 2 prelim. topics, the quadratic function and locus/parabola and 2 HSC topics, probability and geometrical applications of calculus.
Any questions appreciated. :)
Find the equation of the locus of a point that moves so its distance from the line 3x+4y+5=0 is always 4 units.
What I gather from the question is, we need to use the distance formula (somehow) with that line, and make it equal to 4, but I am not sure.
I really want to drop Engineering Studies and I most likely will anyway, but I just wanted a few opinions first. Is there really any point keeping engineering studies as a "2 unit buffer" in case I screw another exam when I'm going to do horribly in the engineering exam anyway (24% in prelim.)...
I'm just curious.. at first does everyone find congruency/similar triangles a difficult thing to do? I struggle immensely with both, and wondering how I can improve or will I eventually pick it up as second nature?
I really want to do computer science at university and my current plan is to see how I go at getting into USyd. However, I've had mixed reviews from multiple people.. some saying it's a lovely uni with a lovely IT department and others saying that the drop out rate is enormous for CST @ USyd...
I was wondering if I could gather some advice for improving in English. It's not my strong point, but I mainly lack with studied text essays. What can I do to improve so I'm not burdened by my English mark in the HSC?
Thanks.
I've answered part a) of this question which was to find the exact length of AC. Now I need to answer part b). I'm not sure what to do.

Thank you.
Hey guys, trig identities are probably my biggest downfall when it comes to trigonometry and I am up to the final question for trig identities in my textbook, but I don't know how to approach it. So I was hoping I could get some help and also some advice on how you would usually approach a trig...
