Advice needed from b6 business students regarding section 4!

Business studies is all about using the terminology from the syllabus to demonstrate your knowledge of the subject matter and ability to put it in (coherent) writing.

Places to study near Hills Area, sydney

Castle Hill Library used to be great but then it just became a social place.. maybe use the cafe there so you can sit apart from everyone else? Alternatively I used to study well in food courts/Maccas at Thornleigh/etc. I don't mind a little noise as long as it isn't directed at me (eg people I...

    Typed vs. Handwritten study notes

I prefer typed notes as you can back them up, access on phone just in case, can easily search to find things, easy to add in things later on, etc... .. but handwritten has added benefit of forcing you to write neatly and practice handwriting.

    How much do people earn?

I'd say those with science or engineering backgrounds may need to think beyond the obvious career paths and what are the longer term potential options where they can add value. I work with quite a few STEM people in my role (I work in banking consulting) and really appreciate the very logical...

    Accounting Majors

I didn't know you could major in auditing... usually accounting in itself is the major, and then there are elective subjects such as auditing, management accounting, etc. which you can choose to do from a list. (that being said, you may need to select electives which are pre-requisites for...

    Cadetships 2018

You do know it’s an accounting Cadetship right? Ie FS/banking is an industry sector whereas accounting (and whichever particular stream or service line within it) is essentially a service. In other words you could be applying for an audit Cadetship and work in consumer goods. Ps don’t apply...

    Cadetships 2018

No hard and fast rule - and whilst doing business studies and economics would definitely indicate an inclination towards the field, it's not a significant differentiation point unless one was able to really demonstrate a genuine interest in the field... and to be honest at the HSC level, most...

    Official Cryptocurrency Thread

I read it. And the Tether thing is interesting given dropping the auditors.

Why is the IPT forum dead?

Agreed. I think if more yr10 students realised the value it offers for various career paths later on, there would be much more take up of it at HSC level.

    Is Samuel Davis a retard?

I don't know how you guys intend to study for the HSC but having multiple reference points or explanations for something can be helpful if you want more information on something especially as some of the concepts in IPT can be confusing or not easily understandable. As others have mentioned you...

    IPT required for computer science

Agreed it's not really related to comp sci (AFAIK) since IPT is more about information processing. That being said IPT has been one of the most useful things I've ever done.

    Nintendo Switch

Switch is turning out to be the biggest surprise for me. Very enjoyable. Pity the eShop is crap.

    Official Cryptocurrency Thread

I'm still relatively new to all this but how are you guys actually realising your gains? Or is it all paper gain? I appreciate the blockchain technology and the concepts behind cryptocurrencies, but I'm not convinced these are the way of the future given the current limitations, issues and...

is 80 WAM acheivable in commerce first year???

Definitely achievable but you need to be committed and motivated to get it.... At least from my own experience, your attitudes towards striving for high marks definitely changes once you're in uni and you do run the risk of complacency/laziness.

Commerce Job Prospects that arent accounting

Agreed, there's a lot of infosys related roles out there, and with the increased focus on things like cybersecurity and technology risk management, there's more and more opportunities in these diverse fields. With no formal degree in this area historically (AFAIK), most people end up in these...

    Other commerce careers then accounting?

I'd also suggest looking at the various majors/submajors on offer for those who study Commerce or Business at various universities. These pages will give you a good insight into other roles out there. For what it's worth, when I look back at my friends who all did Commerce with me back in...

    BCom or BBA (Urgent)

Depends what type of role do you actually want in the future? They both lead down different paths but if you're not focused on finance/accounting at all, then maybe BBA is a way out of having to do even the core subjects.

    Nintendo Switch

Bought it in the end... and even rebought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (after owning it on Wii U) but somehow the wife really enjoys playing it, and it's just so easy to do multiplayer on it compared to the Wii U where you had the awkwardness of one person having a huge Gamepad and everyone else had...
