Last year when we did all of this I was getting pretty good at it, but I cannot do it for shite now! I got 0/6 marks on my trial for the projectiles section and I know its not even particularly difficult.
Where would be the best place to learn from the basics? My textbook teaches it quite...
A question I just did asked to identify when the rate of water draining from a tank was draining at the fastest rate. I solved the second derivative and got a constant. The solution said that as the rate of drainage is a constant, check start and end point. From that, a new answer was deduced...
School Rank: ~170 ish
Economics: 2/8
Studies of Religion 1 unit: 2/63
English Advanced: 3/71
Mathematics: 8/45
Chemistry: 9/27

This is a remake of my other thread since the comments on the last were irrelevant since my ranks changed a fair bit.
Thanks
So it looks like I am going to have to have a (regrettable) gap year in 2013 in order to earn the $21.6K needed for Independent Youth Allowance.
In terms of University and on campus college applications, is it advantageous to apply and defer rather than apply next year?
Also, I've heard that...
Hey,
I've been doing some research the past few days about possible uni courses I may be interested in. This may be a novice question, but could somebody please explain the difference between a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce?
As far as I can tell from the UAC guide...
Every year the Ondaatje question has been so random:
2008:
In your view, how have narrative techniques been used to reveal memorable ideas in Ondaatje’s In the Skin of a Lion?
Support your view with detailed reference to the text
2009:
Michael Ondaatje, In the Skin of a Lion

A pack of 52 cards consists of 13 cards of each suit.
ii) Four cards are chosen at random from the pack and placed side by side and the table. What is the probability that these four cards are all from different suits?
--> 52/52 x 39/51 x 26/50 x 13/49 = 0.105 (to 3 d.p) is the correct answer...
I'm currently having a serious issue with (re)learning galvanic cells.
From the activity series, we know that a more active metal will displace a less active metal in solution, turning from an element into an ion + free electrons. We know that the less active element (currently in solution as...
If you changed pressure/volume, wouldn't equilibrium lie to either side and hence different amounts of product and reactant are made, changing the value of K (as K = [P]/[R])
Likewise, if you change concentration of either P or R wouldn't that directly change K?
The syllabus dot point is...
Hi :)
Just wondering if anybody could have a read of my creative (hopefully somebody who has already done the HSC) and tell me what you think?
I currently think it's maybe a 9-10/15. I would really appreciate if you could also provide a rough mark.

Can somebody elaborate on how the BCS theory and the idea of Cooper pairs explains why superconductivity occurs?
I understand what they are but not why they occur in superconductors or why their presence allows superconductivity to occur.
Thanks
Hey,
Just wondering if anybody has any more to add towards this dotpoint. It's a really obscure one and my three textbooks all cover it quite poorly:
Second-hand investigation: Process information to discuss Einstein and Planck’s differing views about whether science research is removed from...
Hey,
So I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around the idea of the photoelectric effect. I've used two different text books but I am still struggling with the following ideas:
Stopping Voltage (Vstop)
Maximum Kinetic Energy (EKMax)
Work function (Phi)
Threshold frequency
Basically, my...
